Default what do you call that sticky thing that picks paper out of a die?

I would like to buy one of those things that you can pick a die cut out of a die, but I can't remember the name. I have a few PaperTrey dies where it is really hard to get the die cut out of the die. Thanks in advance!

Doesn't the dies have holes on it that you can use a pin to poke from the back? That's what I do with my Cherry Lynn dies.

These dies either don't have holes, or the holes are in the negative space (the inside of an A) not the positive space. I thought I saw a tool on someone's blog that was like a paper piercer, only with something sticky on the end. Is anyone familiar with this?

Hi Christa, I am on my third one of these. It is called the Quicker-Poker-Picker-Upper by QuickKutz.

I love it, I use it for a lot of things. Picking up gemstones, small pieces of a paper piecing, even small stickers.

You will love it.

It's called a QuickStik, and QuickKutz makes it. I got mine at Archivers about a year ago. A friend told me the sticky stuff is sticky tack...

ZOMG! It never occurred to me to use something sticky to get the paper out of the dies. I've just been repeatedly dropping them onto my desk until the paper finally comes loose.

Seems I haven't yet evolved into a tool-user.

QuikStick, now made by Lifestyle Crafts. Can't live without it. I use it to get all my die-cuts out of my Die-namics dies.

a large safety pin or paper clip would work, or a sewing needle would do the job..........

Yes... The QK QuickStick is great! I use it for setting teeny tiny pearls too!

A lot of PTI dies are for solid images and therefore don't have the holes (which would make an indentation on your diecut.

And Sue, you're not so odd, or at least I'm odd with you (lol), because I drop my dies on my work surface also to release the cut images. If possible, I use a dental pick if I can release the diecut without damaging it. (I notice these picks are being packaged and sold now for this purpose; just get one at your drugstore - lots cheaper!)

I have the QuikStick; doesn't work for me. I'm sure it's the tool and NOT the operator (lol). The adhesive just oozes into the cap and makes a mess. (And I know not to turn the top to release more adhesive.) No kidding, I do think there's something wrong with the adhesive in my QuikStick, because of the oozing and because it doesn't pick anything up. Was so thrilled when I found this, but have never been able to get it to work properly.

To the OP: try putting a piece of wax paper between your die and the paper, and cut both; I've found this works especially well with PTI dies.

That QuickStik sound great! Unfortunately, on Amazon it costs 6.99 and the SHIPPING is 5.99. geesh Maybe when I get to a larger city I could find one in a store.

I use my Tim Holtz Craft pick. It is very handy and does a great job on all those types of jobs.... I use it to life gems, pull off the white back off sticky tape, punch holes, and poke out the die cut pieces to name a few. I love that it is retractable, as my old MM one wasn't and I would poke myself from time to time when not paying attention (all me...I am a klutz..)
