Default What to do with these??

My elderly father is living with me and he has either a Boost or an Ensure everyday. It is not in my hoarder tendencies to through away these bottles, but I do!!! It's really getting to me, wasting these!!! Please let me know your creative thoughts on what can be done with these!!!! The plastic bottle is 8oz. Ensure bottle is white with a little decorative divets around the bottle base, the Boost bottle is a tomato red rectangle "ly" shape. Hopefully I attached a picture correctly. Thank you so much!!!;)

Cut off the "wavy top part. Keep the now straight-sided cups. Find (or make) a small box that will hold 6 or 8 of the cups. Decorate the box. Store all your colored pencils in it. Greens in 1 cup. Yellows in another and so on....

a school or day care may be able to use the cut down bottles for paints and other art projects. Sorry I can't think of anything more crafty to do with them.... I'll keep thinking though.

Also, can you recycle them instead of throwing them away???

Default Bottles

When you have exhausted the ideas you get to repurpose them, check on the bottom of the bottle to see if they are recyclable. If there is a #1 or 2 inside the triangular emblem, they can be recycled.

Recycle them. We can't keep everything. Some things just have to be let go. Take a deep breath, and put them in the recycle bin. It will help to watch an episode of Hoarders while you're doing this.

You guys are tough. I need to learn from you. I would be saving them, too. Possibly even for years.

recycling items is a responsible thing to do for the environment and those of us who live in it. hoarding trash? not so much!

I bet everyone on this site could find an entire trash bag full of items in their homes that could be recycled or donated instead of gathering dust in our closets.

Depending on where you live you may be able to recycle even more than that. My local service doesn't go by the numbers. They accept any plastic bottles. I am happy that a couple of years ago they added any plastic tubs (like yogurt or pudding) to the list.
You can probably check online for what your service accepts.

I had a bunch of them when my late husband was drinking them. I saved a few and use them to keep stuff in my stamp room. Perfect size for q-tips for example for my chalks and other uses. I find them helpful. I also used a few to make spice rubs and keep them in them. I never used them to make gifts as they don't have good memories to me. I know other use them as supplements but sad for me.

I have to agree with Winnie that for anyone you give these to as an upcycled or altered item you may stir up some tough memories. It would for me since that's all my Mother in law could take while she was battling cancer. I want to remember her in happier times. Yep, doll, I'd recycle them.

You may also be able to cut them down and make plastic beads out of them. Plastic Bottle Beads

Obviously as they are opaque you wouldn't need to color the entire length.

Otherwise I have two large garbage bags of recycling ready to drop off. However, I only put out about a half a bag of garbage each week for our average sized family.
