I guess I'm just weird...because I'm not sure I'm allergic to any color. I love neutrals...A LOT, and pastels...lots of greens - mossy, sage-y, hunter-ish. (I admit I'm not wild about garish greens  but I'll use them on occasion). I like bolds and brights - even orange! It's always about the project...if it feels right I'm for it.

(That's why I try to avoid the ink pads at Archivers and HL and Michaels...can't resist the ink! :mrgreen

I'm with you all the way! Love them all and playing with them in different ways. Here's to color!

I really dislike orange. I like most saturated colors, most pinks, most greens. I had an aversion to River Rock. I wanted to try out a new border punch and didn't want to waste the "good" CS so I used River Rock. I don't know if it was the punch or the paper but I made two cards with RR one with Blushing Bride and the other with Rose Red. I thought they looked spectacular. Go figure.

River Rock is my favorite! I was so happy when SU brought it back. Pair it with purple and white and black--stunning!

I like River Rock too! I have never tried it with purple, black and white, but I bet it would be stunning!

I agree--it goes with so much and is a very classy color. It was a favorite from the start and still is.

I, too, was thrilled when it came back! It's a great neutral for scrapbook backgrounds, to get away from sand, kraft and vanilla. Looks great with "man" colors, too, for cards.

"Pure" pastels and brights, most especially pink, peach, and lavender.

Muddy the color a bit and it's a totally different story.

I totally agree that soft suede is gross. I have never cared for the bravo burgundy either (it just looks dirty)

Default more bad colors

Now that I'm thinking about it, Stampin' Up! has had some pretty awful colors over the years. Check out this list:

Mint Melody
Marvelous Magenta
Yo Yo Yellow
Crushed Curry
Bravo Burgundy (current)
Orchid Opulence
Only Orange (way too bright - pumpkin is much better)
Actually, most of the colors from the old bold brights group
Rocket Red (the poppy red this year is just a repurposed rocket red)
Soft Suede (I'm still bitter that they ditched cocoa over this stinker!)
True Thyme (oh boy, I think this color is the base of the new soft suede)
Cranberry Crisp (this one just looked dirty to me)

Does anyone remember the first designer papers that Stampin' Up! came out with? Boy, were these ugly! they were 8 1/2 x 11 and they were a base white with 4 or 5 different monochromatic patterns like polka dots, stripes and swirls on them.

I am allergic to pastels...except pink. Not a big fan of most shades of purple. Love jewel tones the most.

Also, I am a little allergic to patterned paper. Just can't seem to get the hang of using it!

Love this topic!

[QUOTE=needmorestamps;17847418]Now that I'm thinking about it, Stampin' Up! has had some pretty awful colors over the years. Check out this list:

True Thyme (oh boy, I think this color is the base of the new soft suede)
Cranberry Crisp (this one just looked dirty to me)

Not all of these are my favorites, but some actually are. If you have some of these to use up, try these combos:
Mint Melody, Chocolate Chip (or Early Espresso),Glorious Green--yum!
Yo Yo Yellow, Real Red, Night of Navy (or Concord Grape)--fun!
Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Garden Green (or True Thyme)--very SW!
Only Orange, Summer Sun (or More Mustard), Soft Suede--autumn!
Rocket Red is before my time, but if Poppy Parade is close--
Poppy Parade, So Saffron, True Thyme (or Soft Suede)--versatile!
Soft Suede, River Rock, Early Espresso (or Black)--masculine!
True Thyme, River Rock, Cranberry Crisp (or Bravo Burgundy)--vineyards!
Cranberry Crisp, Pretty In Pink, Soft Suede (or Black)--sweet!

Of course equal amounts of each probably won't work in most cases, but if you have these colors and want to use them up, it might be a place to start. Who knows, you might grow t like them a little. Anyway, not all colors can be favorites, but it's interesting to see which ones are favorites and which ones are hated--sometimes they are the same colors. I adore Soft Suede, True Thyme, River Rock etc. that many hate. Different strokes for different folks is what it's all about. Isn't it great!

I love Soft Suede! I did hate to see Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel go though. I used those a lot!

I am not a fan of orange. I do use it a lot though. I guess because I have no desire to hoard it I can cut into the page with no regrets.

Most orange/gold colors, and super-pastel stuff do nothing for me. Mint green is the worst. Oh, and neon isn't a color family - it's an insult to the eyes.

I love all colors, but even though pink is not my favorite color, it seems to be an easy color for me to work with since a lot of my cards have pink. weird.

Our high school (red & black) has a HUGE rivalry with another school whose colors are green & white. Don't use much green-green, but I like the "off-greens" like olive, avocado, celery.... My son, however, refuses to wear any shade of green!
Orange is the one color I really have problems with. I love a line from Will & Grace--Grace was wearing something orange & her assistant, Karen, told her, "Oh, honey, even a pumpkin doesn't look good in that color!" I'm trying to expand my horizons, though. I recently bought a couple of big area rugs. One is pretty close to orange (probably just to my biased eye. It's honestly more of a brick red, but still....), and the other actually has a tiny bit of orange in the pattern. Those are literally the first orange things in my house. Ever.

I love this thread! People have such visceral reactions to color, and it's so funny how varied those reactions can be.

Yes, it's interesting to see what some people "hate" and I love ;) I adore Baja Breeze, Cranberry Crisp, Yoyo Yellow, and I even like Bravo Burgundy...maybe not love it.

Lots of posts on other threads stated they hate BB...that it looks like blood. I've also read Yoyo described as Yoyo Yuck! I still like Yoyo Yellow and I'm not a big brights person.
So, yes very interesting!

I still say it depends on what some colors are paired with.
