Ladies: I have received a wonderful picture of the bride and groom along with thier wedding announcement and invitation to a reception.
I want to tear apart the announement and do something nice with it and the picture to return to them as a gift - it's a business colleague, so I wouldn't keep the photo.
Any ideas where I can find some, well, ideas?! I am visual, so I need to see samples. A web search didn't turn up anything after 15 minutes (other than sites for other people to do the work and charge me!).
I have turned a wedding invitation into a card to give back to them... but not a gift. Here's a link. I know what you're talking about, though. I bet someone on here has done something gift-y with one. Have you done a search in the gallery?

Something that I am doing for all my bridesmaids, and our parents and grandparents is to take a nice 5x7 picture of us and have it framed offset (off to one side) of a photo mat, then taking that photo mat and placing it in a shadow box with 2 dried ivory roses tied up with some blue and peach ribbon (my wedding colors) and a small engraved plaque with our names and the date/location of the wedding.
I am getting the photo mat cut at michaels, as well as the shadow boxes, bit by bit with the 40% off coupons to try to keep the cost down, but then I have to do 14 of them in total.
If you are only doing one, then it should not cost too much. And if you know the wedding colors, you can do everything to match their theme.
Good luck, and post a pic of what ever you do decide to do!
When I was married, I received a gift using my invitation. The lady had bought a hinged photo frame. So that there was 2 spaces for pictures. On one side she put in a part of the invite and one other, she put a calendar of the month of June and circled the 20th, our wedding date.
The frame set was small but I'm sure you could take that idea and RUN with it with stamping techniques/ideas.
My mom made me a wreath (grapevine) and added dried flowers from our wedding. She was able to incorporated our invitation into it as well. It is beautiful.
I just made a Creative Memories 7 X 7 wedding album for a friend of mine using their invitation and a few momentos from their wedding! I put their wedding invitation on the first page and used one of CM's romance snap packs to finish the album very quickly as I didn't have much time. I added a few more pages of my own design to make it a little bigger. Unfortunately, I didn't get to attend the wedding or I would have taken some pictures to put in it. I did get a friend to send me some of the wedding things that were there (she forgot her camera, ggrrrr!) and also included them. I left all the other pages blank and gave a couple of pens and photo corners with it. If I had received a picture of the lucky couple, I would have also included it in the album as well! The bride absolutely loved it and thanked me profusely! I am sorry I don't have any pictures as I have already sent the album. It worked for me as I didn't want to come up with the page designs myself, but you might want something fancier! Good luck!
I too have taken an invitation and put it in a nice frame with a mat or maybe a nice backgroun (coordinating wedding colors) or if you know the colors in their home, something to coordinat with that. I've done one with just the invitation
I've also done one with an invitation on one side and left the right side blank to put their favorite photo in. Or if you have one of the couple, put it there and tell them they can switch it out. Its fun and very much appreciated. I got two like that for my wedding and I treasure them both!
