I just called Viking and they will not be honoring the .01. I will be refusing shipment when it arrives. That way they will credit my account for the full price which they will be charging. If you used a credit card, it sounded like they would be cancelling those envelope orders.
It's just like the desk .01 mistake. They have probably changed their policy and do not have to honor mistakes made....they do happen ya' know!
Did the take out the correct amount (at $.01 per box) or did they take more? If they've already taken the money out, I don't think they can take more without prior authorization.

Ok. They're here and all I can do is look at the boxes. I know about making the little gift bags with them. But that's a lot of little bags. Any other ideas? Maybe an envelope album? Hmmmm . . . if I come up with anything, I'll let you know.
I hope you all know the glue on envelopes gets old and doesn't stick, so find someone that has a price mistake on glue too!

Good point on being a customer for life! So what was your charge on the .01envelopes and how did you order by credit card or on account. I"m to lazy to back track if you've already posted the info. One more question - on what day did you place this order to have gotten it so soon!
Hey, I'll take them if they send them for the price listed, I use them all for charity anyway so I'm not going to feel to guilty!
I just went and checked my order. It does not say the dropship comment. It just says that it is awaiting the backorder. The charge stands at $.01 each, for 6 boxes. They are in red, indicating backordered.
I really wish people would STOP calling Viking to see if this is for real. It could be ruining it for the rest of us. If it's their mistake....too bad. They will honor the price for me because I have an email from the company that shows the price of the envelopes and the handling fee. What is that saying? mmmm.....oh yeah....The customer is ALWAYS right!
Actually, they don't have to honor the price if it was an error. From the website:

And, no, they can't charge your card the full price since you have confirmation of the lower price. They will either just cancel the order or call you and ask you if you want to pay full price or cancel. Companies have policies in place to protect themselves from this kind of thing...raise your hand if you remember the desk fiasco!
I'm not trying to make anyone feel guilty for ordering any amount of boxes nor am I trying to be snarky.
Several months ago, Burlington Coat Factory had several very cute maternity tops on sale...and the price was $0.01 or something crazy low like that. I ordered two of each color! Boy was I upset when they cancelled the order due to website error, but it does happen...and I took advantage of the low price, too. So, I'm not trying to be all high and mighty...I've done the exact same thing!

I agree - I did call my credit card company though just to make sure a very large charge didn't go through - they laughed when I explained the situation and said they have had stranger things happen. But, they did agree to stop any payment above the already authorized charge.

I ordered my envelopes and found there was a back order. I got confirmation number but there was no shipping listed. Does t his mean that there isn't much of a chance that I will get them?
I ordered 10 boxes and some tape this AM via their website and within 6 hours I had the tape but the envies were backordered (which I knew they would be when I ordered). We'll see if the envies come!
I just received my order - 10 boxes - and the price on the invoice is .01 per box. By the way, 10 boxes come in a box just slightly larger than a SU catalog box.
They are quick! You have to admire that. It sounds like they are doing their best to honor it if people are actually receiving their orders. What will they think when they deliver 100 boxes to a house, not a business????

That is odd. It seems that lots of people have called and talked to a live person. You would think that one of them would have reported it, and the error would have been fixed by 7am on Monday. Maybe that means it isn't an error..??

This is my thought to all this. Like you said why haven't they adjusted that 1 cent price back to the correct price? I think viking is clearing house, maybe the new envelopes are a different style, new and improved, or maybe these envelopes are old and the glue is yellowing, who knows.
BUT if they are not honoring the price then why do they still have the price online STILL on Monday, 23rd 2005, at 5:06pm Central standard time. They were informed about this problem Saturday.
You guys are a bad influence! I didn't really NEED envelopes. But I gave in and ordered some today since they hadn't changed the price yet. We'll see what they say. I added some packing tape and some mono refills to the order as well.

I only ordered 8 boxes and it says that they are out for delivery. I was only charged .01 cents for each, I also ordered some colored envelopes at regular price. I also just checked the website and they are still only .01 and it says low availability. I hope everyone gets theirs soon. Have a great day, Kerry
When I called to order threw the phone they where back stocked so I put in a back order but when my friend called they said the same thing but they where NOT going to honor any orders for the penny price FYI, so I called back to check on the status and price and she told me the same thing NO orders where going to be honored for a penny a box. They where $7.99 a box so just thought you would all like to know if maybe you wanted to check on your order.

IT is not about calling them it is those that order the 50+ boxes that put up a red flag for the company. If people wouldn't be so greedy when the price is cheap EVERYONE would have a chance. I orderd 10 boxes, but I ordered over $50 worth of OTHER things too with them. I have not got a shipping order yet for the envelopes but have the other $58 worth of stuff being delivered today.

worried about debit card charge
I just hope that if they are going to charge full price, they will tell me. Otherwise, my account will go WAY negative! I ordered 15 boxes just now on backorder. My email confirmation came and it says $0.00. :confused:
