Question Vellum...what to do with it?

 I have several questions regarding vellum. I have used regular vellum to stamp the bag and jar from the All Wrapped Up set. I like that and it looks adorable with the image cut out and placed on regular card stock.

What else can I use this "regular" vellum for?

I bought some discontinued SU decorative vellum (not sure what it's called but it colored and has lines, etc. on it) thinking it was regular card stock. In fact, I bought A LOT of it. What can I do with that?

Card stock vellum. This looks so interesting. What do you do with that?

I know, I know, I know...I have so much to learn. I would so appreciate any info on this vellum stuff!

I'd be interested in more ideas as well.

What I mostly use vellum for is my scrapbook journalling. I don't write very nicely, so I create my journalling on the computer, print it (most of it on vellum,) cut it out and attach to my scrapbook pages.

I have done some stamping on it and attach to cards with brads or eyelets.

I have found the best way to attach vellum is with a glue stick, covering the whole piece, that way the adhesive doesn't show through, that is unless you are attaching with a brad...

I like the cardstock vellum because it's very sturdy and doesn't melt when I emboss something on it. I just did a card where I embossed snowflakes in Iridiscent Ice on vellum c/stock and it looked beautiful (I never uploaded to my gallery because it scans silver when in fact it's all white).

You can tear vellum and just use strips of it on your card or scrapbook page. Don't feel like you have to use the whole piece. It's great for cards for weddings and christenings...

You can use ribbon to attach it to your card. Simply fold the vellum in half the same dimensions as your card and tie ribbon around both the vellum and cardstock to hold it in place.

Or use brads or eyelets to hold it in place.

Just thinking outloud....

Can I ask a silly question? What is card stock vellum? and how does it differ from regular vellum? I bought some vellu with a linen look to it, but it is a little heavier than the regualr vellum and I now I am not sure what to do with it. I'd be interested in any ideas that you might have.

I have seen that cardstock vellum is better for dry embossing, though I haven't tried it myself. It turns white when embossed. Check out Michelle Laycock's gallery for some awesome Pergamano ideas! (You might have to be a fan club member.)

The CS vellum is a heavier weight. I really like to use it to make templates to use and save for my SAMJ. Otherwise, I pretty much use it the same as paper vellum.
