Smile Valentine's Day was an eye opening experience for me

Hey Everyone,

For my nurses and clerks in the ER I work in I concocted some card fronts, stuck a piece of chocolate on with a glue dot, and also got the Russell Stover dollar boxes of candy from WallyWorld, embellished the front of the boxes. Everyone thanked me, and a couple of people came by and told me that would be the only Valentine they would get. Made me glad I had brought the stuff to work, but a little sad. So I guess what I am trying to say as I look down at the new Rolex dh got for me, and the rose plants, and cards from my family is "count your blessings".

It is wonderful that you were able to bring a little happiness to those who would otherwise not have received a valentine. It doesn't matter how big or small or expensive or inexpensive the gift is it is always the thought that goes into it that counts. Thank you for sharing.

You never know how the littlest thing can make someone's day! I think we tend to forget that. Sounds like your co-workers are very lucky:-)

Patrice - that was so nice of you to spread some love for Valentine's!

A big THANK YOU to you and the nurses/clerks who work with you! I've been a hospital volunteer for over 16 years now and can't say enough good things about people who work in the medical field. The hours usually stink and the pay oftentimes isn't much better. Bless all of you for what you do :p

That is wonderful, Patrice. Am sure your co-workers were delighted and maybe a little surprised???

I made a little valentine at the last minute and took it across the street to my neighbor whose husband died January 1. Other neighbors may have done something also, I don't know but I didn't want her to have Valentine's day with nothing.
