Default Using bleach to stamp

When using bleach to stamp, can you use any stamp or only stamps with a block image, meaning can you use really detailed stamps? I saw on Carol Duval today a SU demo using bleach. I thought it really looked neat and would like to try it.

Also until I find a pad like she spoke of, what else could I try to use bleach?

I know that all of you stamping wiz people out here will have some great suggestions.

Thanks

I use 3-4 sheets of paper towels, fold them together into quarters, and pour a little bleach on the paper towels (on a plate or disposable tray) - then use it as a stamp pad - very easy!

Yes, you can use detailed stamps. I have used lovely as a tree and loved the bleach affect with that. For a stamp pad you can take a kitchen sponge and put it in a small container that you don't care about and pour the bleach onto it. It makes a great pad that distributes pretty evenly.

Wow I knew I would get help with this, but didn't realize how quickly!!! Thanks, now I am going to get off this puter and go try it. Hopefully I can get my dad over here to show me how to use this scanner and digital camera and get a pic posted of my trial by bleach, so to speak.

I just cut a piece of felt to fit the bottom of one of those semi-disposable storage containers (think Glad or Ziplock square sandwich size). I dump a small glug of bleach in it and...tada! I have a bleach stamp pad that I can seal up and store and pull out again easily to use any time! I found the felt to give me a more uniform image that a sponge or paper towel!

I put about 6-7 paper towels in a pie dish and soak the paper towels.
It works good, you could problay use an altoids tin and towels.
I'd like to put bleach in my aqua brush, but I'm scared. I don't remember if that's alright. Can anyone tell me??

they said at regionals that is safe to use bleach in an AP. I would rinse it out really well when you are done, but that's just me!

In my vast experience i.e. trying it for the first time last week in response to the TLC04 challenge, my preferred method is to stamp in black using a fine stampm, emboss and then use either a chlorox bleach pen (in soap powder aisle at grocery store) or aqua pen filled with bleach to color (or rather not to color). It is less messy and in my opinion more fun with nice results.
If you do a search on TLC04 in the gallery you will see lots of variations of cards done with bleaching techniques.

I have a clorox bleach pen that I'm crazy about! It has two different tip sizes. I use the big tip and my fingers to smear it over the stamps. I just got the Great Shapes set, and am loving it with the bleach for background paper!!!

Does the bleach damage the rubber?

Default bleach.

The bleach doesn't damage the rubber--- just make sure that you clean your stamps really good after you use bleach!
