Default Unmounters - did you do your alphabets too

I have decided to begin unmounting some of my stamps. Did you do your alphabets? did you regret doing those? Tips? Thank you

I didn't unmount my alphabets or any of the really small stamps that I have. HTH.

You know I am thinking that I am going to keep my alphas mounted the way they are for now. It looks like it may be easier to use them if I unmount them, because I could put them all on one block and then just stamp once, but I am not sure that I want to do that. I will keep them on wood for now, but if you do unmount, let me know what you think.

Yes, I unmounted the alphabets, and I love them much more that way. I hardly ever need my Stamp-a-ma-jig now.

Default how to unmount?

I'm interested in learning more about unmounting my vast collection of wood stamps. I've since moved on to the clear/clingy stamps and love them.

Anyone have some ideas or experience with this? I saw someone posted today about a product called Tack n' Peel...

Ever use this stuff?

I'm with Chris on this one; my unmounted alphabets are more useful to me now. I find placement a lot easier on an acrylic block and, depending on the spacing I want, I can sometimes line up a whole word instead of stamping each letter individually. Unmounted all the way, baby.

Default unmounting rubber stamps

I am unmounting my stamps because I have just run out of space.

I am putting the rubber in photo pockets and then in a notebook. How is anybody else storing them?

I've stored all my smaller sets in CD cases that I keep in wooden CD boxes. The larger sets are in clear file folders and cases available here: http://www.unitystampco.com/tags/124

Michelle, after reading tons of info here on the forum, I took the plunge! I am now in the process of unmounting all my sets & so far have been happy with the results. This is how i am doing it (These are all techniques i found here on SCS)

Take a wooden mounted stamp and nuke it on high for 9 seconds.
Carefully (using a flat knife/mini spatuala) release the stamp & foam from the block.
Flip it over. Peel off the clear picture sticker on the block and stick onto the back of the stamp (it is all still sticky)
Trim the clear label.
Apply a thin coat of Aileens TIOAO (tack it over and over glue)
Let it dry about 30 mins. Press it once onto the back of your hand and now stick it into your storage container. You can apply it to an acrylic block to use. You don't need the EZ mount foam using this method.
The TIOAO lasts a long time and you can reapply when it starts to wear out.
I love the new SU storage cases and have created an insert file for my stamps that I have unmounted.
As I said in another thread, this unmounting is addictive. ;)
(Still undecided if I'm going to unmount my alphabets though)
Hope this helps!

Yes and no on unmounting my alpha stamps.

I have a teeny-tiny set and I should have left them on the blocks. Too easy to loose and too hard to clean without ripping them off the EZ mount.

No on a foam set - just because it was way hard to get them off the foam mount (even microwaving didin't help). These things are put on kryptonite!

The ones I did unmount are great to use because they are so easy to align on the blocks but I can't get them really close to each other so I have a little large gap between letters than I would like.
