Unmounted girls - have you tried Stamping image on EZ Mount
I wouldn't mind going unmounted if I could see my image when I'm stamping. Not seeing the image makes me want to stay mounted, but I was wondering if anyone has tried inking your rubber with Staz-on, stamping the side of the EZ Mount that would cling to the acrylic block and then attaching it to your stamp and cutting out, or cutting around the image then attaching it to the rubber. Then you can see your image when you are stamping it - even if it's not perfect, my brain would function better being able to see an image of what I am stamping. :-)
I have a few See D's Clearly stamps, and they have their image on the foam so you can see it when you are stamping. I can't say they are great quality stamps as the images are not deeply etched, but after seeing that I was wondering if there was a way to do that with your unmounted ones.
Is this wishful thinking? If I could see my image when stamping unmounted rubber I would have the best of both worlds!

I always index the EZ mount with the image before sticking them and cutting. I use Palette Hybrid Ink though. Takes a few minutes to dry, but works beautifully. And it has made it so much nicer for choosing images from the cd case, and of course stamping them. It is way smart!
I do this all the time. I cut around my stamps ( but not too close). I lay the rubber side of the stamp on the cling side of the EZ Mount and trace around the stamp. Then I ink up the rubber and I have a perfect spot to place the image. This way when I cut out the rubber and EZ Mount together the image is almost perfectly centred. Also, I get the most out of my EZ Mount with hardly any waste.
Hope this helps!

I realize this is quite an old post, but I am looking for some more help/advice. I am currently in the process of unmounting all of my stamps and am having trouble getting the image on the EZ mount. I think it will be pretty easy for new sets, but I have close to 100 sets that I have to unmount. I tried tracing the image on the cling side and then stamping, but found that when I cut the stamp out you could still see my "trace" lines as I wasn't perfect. Perhaps I was having so many problems because I started with a smaller stamp?
I would love to have the image on the back, but am a bit of a perfectionist and need to ensure it is relatively close to perfect. I am finding the thing I like about unmounting is the stamps are easier to line up and I think having an image would be even more helpful.
Does anyone else have any other tips for imaging the cling?
I stamp in Staz-On and then while the image is still upside down on the cling I trace around it. I then take the stamp off, cut slightly on the inside line I traced and adhere the rubber to the cling. HTH! :-)
