Can you tell me what you use? I'm looking for something somewhat transluscent and shimmery but not multi colored. I use SU's Dazzling Diamonds and while I love it, I'm looking for something that is less colorful. I hope this makes sense.
If you only want to add accents and not cover huge areas, I recommend Stickles in the Stardust color. It is sparkly but translucent and shows the color underneath when you apply it.

You wouldn't be able to put it on the same as glitter. It doesn't lend itself to tapping off the same way. But you could apply it to a dry adhesive with a brush. (a wet adhesive that dries to 'repositionable' then becomes a dry adhesive if you wait for it to dry to tacky)
Bugga, thanks for your response. It would have helped if I would have stated what I wanted to do with the glitter. It is to cover a card front. So while I use stickles for just about everything else, I love that stuff, I'm not talented enough to use it for this project.
Vice, thanks for the links. I'm going to check those out. I'm especially interested in the micro-fine glitters.
I love Sparkle & Sprinkle micro fine and ultra fine glitters. I haven't tried Art Institute, but bet their comparable to each other. I didn't see them posted, but I could have missed it. It's way past my bedtime💤
Glamour Dust (this stuff) works well for big areas and the Crystal one is clear enough that if you put it over a coloured image you can see through well. It's also fine enough that you can colour over it with Copics or other alcohol markers without it "feathering" a lot.
I'm attaching a pic of a magazine cover with a card I did with Glamour Dust and Copics so you hopefully see some of the effect (the glitter is very sparkly in real life - always difficult to capture with a still photo).
Thanks to all for your responses! So far I'm ordering glitter from Elizabeth Craft as well Art Inst (Wow! I can't believe all the colors of glitter they carry!).
Joanne, your card is beautiful and that is exactly the effect I'm going for. I love how subtle it looks on the card. This one's on my list as well.
Have you seen the Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy dry glitter? It's made by Ranger. It is whitish/clear-ish, has a subtle shine and shimmer but it's not as colorful as SU's Dazzling Diamonds.

It has multiple sizes of glitter, not fine at all.
Vic, my apologies fo misspelling your name. I just noticed that in my response to your post my tablet auto corrected your name to Vice. I really try hard to catch these typos - it's a pet peeve of mine. So sorry.
My lss carries Art Institute glitter and I'm addicted. It would be hard to really appreciate how wonderful the colors are online. I bought 7 new colors on Friday, bringing my stash up to 32. I was only going to get a couple of pinks for Valentine's Day, but couldn't decide on just 2. One, Ripe Plum (an opaque) is a lucious deep purple. The names, like Whisper, Cupid, and Hot Jazz, are almost as yummy as the colors!
I bought something on clearance at HL called Sugar coating and it's made by a company called doodlebug. It's ULTRA ultra fine. It wasn't clearance other then rotating stock as they have replaced what went on clearance a while back. I love this stuff. It's great. I also bought this uber fine white glitter at the scrapbook expo. It's a no name and it was only a dollar. I grabbed a couple. It's really nice. My fav is the doodlebug sugar coating though. nice. It actually looks like sparkly sugar.
I went and looked more carefully at my Art Institute glitters. Most are ultra fine but 2 of the new ones are micro fine. You got a much better deal than I did though, good find!

Another vote here for Elizabeth Crafts microfine glitter: I have it in the warm and cool versions. When it's burnished on your piece, it feels like silk. I have used this with outline stickers, also from Elizabeth Crafts, and then colored the sticker image with Copics.
That way you don't have to buy all the colors - just one and use your Copics!
Here's a link to card where I used the stickers, glitter and my Copics:

Check these out "Sparkle & Sprinkle Copics Coloring on Glitter 1" and "Sparkle & Sprinkle Copics Coloring on Glitter 2". I love this glitter. If you have Copics or alcohol markers, you don't need a ton of colors. My favorite is the beautiful sparkling pure white 8 ounce "Cloud 9", although I have other colors. Hope you find these videos and others by this company worth wild, even if you buy another brand.
I found a technique on YouTube at Christmas that was to iron a used bounce sheet and glue it on the card (I used my Zyron), then sprinkle with glitter..no need for more glue, and it leaves just a shimmer that is lovely. Just in case you want to try it with any of the glitters recommended. I used SU DD and liked it much better than just using the glitter the usual way.

Millie, I just found that same technique on youtube today as well. I found it really interesting. I was going to give it a try next time I get a dryer sheet out of the dryer.
I'm looking to make some "Winter" season type cards and that was such a pretty effect that I saw that I definitely want to at the very least try it. Thanks for sharing!!
I just remembered that I bought some microfine glitter from this place. There is a white one called Cloud Nine. It really does feel like velvet!!!!!!!!! I don't know how they did it, but it is just gorgeous. I kept rubbing my fingers all over my glittered cards.
Has anyone used Martha Stewarts Crystal glitter? Can't remember it's exact name, but it looks a lot like dazzling diamonds and you can get a very large jar of it. I use a lot of clear glitter lately and would love to get this if it is as fine or better than dazzling diamonds.

Boy do I understand this! Autocorrect is so funny. I also make a lot of mistakes because the keys are close together on my phone. I many many times have written thongs instead of things!! I usually catch it, but when I don't, I get funny comments back from friends! LOL
I've used the Martha glitter. Actually, I've got 2 brand new packages (HL clearance). One different varieties of white and a pastel pinks. I love her glitters. I always forget about them but LOVE them.
So what would you say is the finest glitter of them all? I have searched for glitter size comparisons all over Google and came up with nothing... I have read that Perfect Pearls are finer than Pearl Ex... where does Elizabeth Crafts microfine glitter fall on that spectrum? I would love to hear any insight on this

Neither Perfect Pearls or Pearl Ex are glitter. I'd say Elizabeth Crafts, Glitter Ritz or Art Glitter are the finest size.
Thank you so much for your answer!
If they are not glitter, what are they/how can I find similar products in scrapbooking shops?
Seems like I still have so much to learn

Thank you! -I should have might myself more understandable, I am not looking for Perfect Pearls or Pearl Ex but for other powders that are as fine as them or what powders this fine are usually called in scrapbooking stores (the "term")? Are these two the only products of their kind?
Glitter and pigment powders are not the same. Ulta fine glitter is very "powder-like." I have stamped an image with medium and applied Perfect Pearls for a shimmer but it does not compare to glitter.
