I just bought some of these - I thought they were similar to Radiant Pearls, but when I opened the jar, they were dry. How do you start using them? Do you need to add water?
I use an Art-Kure aqua-brush, it is a bit like a fountain pen, but it holds water instead of ink. It gives just the right amount of water to the brush to use with H2Os without getting the paint cake too wet
Oh and to answer the OP question - when I saw them demo'd by the manufacturer's rep she had a mist bottle and spritzed all of the open jars. then let them sit for a minute before she started painting with them.
I scanned the suggested threads and would like to add the following:
Luminarte manufactures both Radiant Pearls and Twinkling H2O's and while they are both beautiful, they are very different! Twinkling H20's can be extended with water, but in contrast, you can't mix Radiant Pearls with water at all! Radiant Pearls does not dry on acetate or plastic for love nor money.
The best source for the scoop on these products is the Luminarte site, so here it is:
I just used the twinkling H2O's in a class this week. We were told to dip a paint brush in water, then into the dry color jar and paint like watercolor paints. Otherwise, the aqua painters (paint brush with water in the handle) would be another good option as you have a constant water supply bu simply squeezing the handle. The less water you use the darker the color. These dry with a glimmery or "twinkling" effect. I practiced a little on some scrap paper to get the hang of this. If I can only remember to keep the color within the lines.
I am so glad you asked this question!! I bought 4 sets of these.. lots of beautiful colors!! Then I wasn't sure I knew how to use them!! Thanks to everyone for the awesome answers!
Where is the best place to buy the Twinkling H2O's at? Wasn't there someone on the forum that offered a good deal on these? I've been contemplating them but am broke, but I do have a friend that wants to purchase and can't find a good deal...where did you all get yours from??

I use my aquabrush when using my Twinkling H2O's - if you go to the Luminarc website you can see all the different combos they have. I have the 5 gram pots and have used them alot and have barely made a dent in them.
Also you can sign up for Club Luminarc and they will send you a code for $5 off an order. I just got another set of 5 gram pots for $5 the other day...
There are a few places on the web that sells them - there are also a few people who sell them on E-bay...I have found them cheaper on E-bay when you calculate in S&H - most places have a set of 5 5 gram pots for about $9-10 but check the shipping charges - a lot of the web shops charge $3-5 for shipping whereas I have gotten them on E-bay for $10 with only $1.50 or less S&H...
Shawna here at SCS also sells them from time to time for 25% off - check the BST board for messages
