Depends on my mood...AND if the youngest 2 are up. If I HAVE to work on something & the diaper duo are awake, then it is their choice! I have't noticed either way if one genre is better than another for my creativity. Until later...
If I'm stamping while everyone else is up and about, I listen to whatever's on so it's what's on TV or the kids playing (in general or video games). When I'm alone and stamping, it's either silence or I listen to XM on DirecTV. My favorite channel to listen to is "The Joint" which is reggae which I totally love but no one else in my family is in to as much as me :-)

I was wondering just this very thing earlier today!
During the day I'm almost always listening to my ipod or internet radio, or I watch TV with my ears! lol. In the evening my DH and I talk while I stamp and he works on the computer. I'd love to have my own dedicated stamping space - but I'd miss having him so close by. Lots of times I'll ask him for an opinion, he has a great eye, it's good to have someone to bounce options off.
I know what Cathy means about using the TV to keep track of time....if I hear Oprah finish I know it's time to get off my butt and buzz round the house to make it look like I'm housewife of the year!
I listen mostly to the radio...the only time I have the TV on is if there's an Orioles' game on...I can listen to that and since the games are slow moving, I can look up if something happens.
I stamp right in the living room. I have my corner all set. That way I am still spending time watching TV or movies witht he family and I am still doing my stamping. If I had my own room my family would never see me!!! But even when I am alone I still like to have the TV on to watch also.
At the cabin in the summer then it is the radio as we do not have a TV in there. That way the kids hacve to be outside or doing something different than sitting in inside all day watching the TV.
either TV or my iPod docked in my Bose Docking station.
Although the other night I was at a Crop with my iPod & headsets on, and I find myself singing/humming along. Other people at the crop probably thought I was a nut case
well a mixture of tv in another part of the house, or the radio in another part of the house or silence....all depends on what kinda mood I am in! but I dont like them to be on in the same room as me...odd I know!
Tv is in the living room, sometimes that is on for noise, sometimes I listen to classical music via the internet or tv and sometimes I pop a DVD into the computer and watch while I stamp. So it just depends on my mood.

LOL! I do the same thing when the TV is on...& I thought I was the ONLY one! I know the kids will be home in a few when Ellen starts & DH when Oprah starts. Plus when I am getting ready for work I know I need to be done right after the weather report is over on the 5o'clock news. Certainly is better than my watch, which I only wear at work because I HAVE to there! LOL
Until later...
I have to have the tv on at least just for the background noise and it is usually on either Animal Planet or Discovery Health. When the weather is nice enough to open the window I love to listen to the birds singing. My next door neighbor is an avid bird and squirrel feeder and it's so peaceful stamping in front of the window where I can occasionally look up and see the birds and squirrels eating. Her backyard is like paradise in the summer!
It's "The Golden Girls" for me! I have 5 of the 7 seasons on DVD and I just pop one into the DVD player (no cable in my craft room, so I rely on DVDs!) and stamp away. I find myself reciting the lines without even realizing it..I love that show!

It all depends on my mood. Sometimes it is nice to sit in the quiet!! Sometimes I listen to my MP3 player and then there are days when NASCAR stuff is on and the TV is playing in my room.
Just depends on the day!

Neither. I usually stamp during the day...when the kids are at school and DH is at work. The house is completely quiet. Ahhhh, I enjoy the quiet.
Kim, Me too! My family thinks I am nuts to have the house quiet all day, but there is so much noise when they are home I love the peace when they are gone.
I try to watch tv sometimes, but I get so distracted I don't get anything done.

I watch TV while I stamp. I watch the soaps Days and Y & R and I don't need to intensely watch to catch what is going on so it is perfect to stamp to. Now any other show and I end up getting notta thing stamped as I am glued to the TV.
Depends on what I am doing. Mindless cutting out, embossing or die-cutting I do in front of the TV with the family (unless they complain too loudly about the ratcheting). I like to make whole batches of things at once sometimes like say 40 embossed fronts.
For the "creative" design or stamping part, I listen to either music or audiobooks on my iPod.
Stamping for me is like therapy, a world of peace and tranquility. So I keep the TV off, and sometimes play my flute or guitar playlists on my iPod in its speaker dock. Or, most likely, just enjoy the silence.
Noise and interruptions kill my creativity instantly. It seems to be such a fragile thing...

If it was up to me, I'd have Josh Groban on the entire time I'm stamping but considering I have two young ones still at home there is usually a movie or xbox game on while I'm stamping.
Oh yeah, now that;s my kind of music! Have you seen him in concert?!?! Even better IRL! And he's cute!

I stamp with the TV on during regular season programing. I usually have it on for background noise and take an occasional peek if I hear something interesting.
I hate re-runs so in the summer (off season programming) I play CD's. Anything from mellow to get-out-of-chair-shake-what-your-mama-gave-ya-tunes!

Depends on what's on TV. I don't have cable down in my stamping hole. So there isn't much to choose from. The radio keeps me pretty happy most of the time.
I usually put on a movie that I've seen dozens of time but still enjoy.
My favorite stamping movies are:
Titanic
Eight Below
The Notebook
Cast Away
Gone with the Wind
The Wizard of Oz
The Sound of Music
I prefer soothing music like Jim Brickman, Michael Buble, Celine Dion, Kevin Kerns, & John Tesh, plus I like David Phelps & Brad Paisley for a change of pace. I also like opening my windows and listening to nature and my neighbor reving up the engines on his antique cars. LOL.
