This is fun. I love seeing how different everyone's tastes are. I'll play!

Love

Birds
Butterflies
Buttons
Clean and simple
PTI
Verve
Nesties and other similar dies (e.g. PTI)
Basic Grey paper
background stamps
Copic markers
trees
unmounted stamps, whether rubber or high-quality clear
Big Shot
Scor Tape
Christmas/holiday stamps
Sentiment stamps (yes, I know that I have 794 "thank you" stamps, but they're all different.)
Kraft with nearly any color
Ribbon
Bling - small crystals, pearls, etc.

Dislike

Cupcakes
Owls
Kids with huge heads/no mouths
Vintage
Cards with tons of layers and embellishments
Grunge (such as Tim Holtz stuff)
Cutesy images
Punny sentiments
Layers or embellishments that stick out past the edge of the card, making it not fit a standard sized envelope
Stamps that appear to be drawn by a child
collage
Build a Bear stuff
anime stamps
digi stamps
Gray or brown with many colors (brown/pink, yellow/gray, etc.)
inchies
scrapbooking (it's just not my thing)
getting drawn in to the "gotta have it" frenzy for every new thing that comes along

I am still developing my style, but here are my likes and dislikes right now

I Like very much:
Nesties in basic geometric shapes, pendants and labels
MS punches (love)
SU plain colored CS
Copics
JustRite stamps
Magnolias- actually Just Tildas
Red rubber stamps
Botanical , birds and nature stamps

Dislikes:
Wide bulky bows
Cluttered cards with too many layers or embellishments on them.
Distressed paper (really hate)
Vintage images
Multiple layers of different DP that seems to clash with each other
Buttons, twine, charms or rick rack/ lace that belongs on clothing
Sewing on cards
Cutesy stamps
Stamps that look like a child's drawing
I don't want the specialty shaped dies such as eggs, ducks etc. They are too limiting

this thread is so fun. I love when folks describe the stuff the hate in such funny ways. And it is great that some of us love what others don't like!

Not in any particular order:

Love:

Embossing folders
ATG gun
BigShote
Prismacolor pencils
copics
Basic Grey designer papers
SU cardstock & ink pads
Stickles
Mist sprays

Not Feelin' the Love

Anime
Faries
Wheels
Carl Cutters
loose glitters
glue sticks
retro stuff (it was ugly in the 50's and it's still ugly)
crocheted embellishments

Huge, huge, huge dislike of cards that look like scrapbook pages - what happened to stamping using a variety of techniques?

Addicted to:
October Afternoon papers
Fun-to-color images
Dogs (I would really like to be more specific and put "corgi" but I've only found about 2 corgi stamps ever, so I can't say that's a "trend")
colored cardstock as card base
Nesties Label One
Big scallop borders and nesties
glossy accents (which is new to me since I just bought my first bottle a couple weeks ago--what took me so long? Same with heat embossing, too)
The bigger polka dot embossing folder-I think by Sizzix?
What The Font website. Upload a picture of a font, shazaam, it gives you a pretty close, if not exact, match.
Fun happy images like Snoopy, classic cars, pure innocence, kraftin kimmie
sketch challenges
VSN
Winning a challenge, being selected to VSN honor gallery, people being published for the first time, being listed in the favorites thread, or heck, just getting a comment or a favorite on one of your cards in the gallery

Meh...not so much:
People who can color way better than me, and therefore make my coloring look inferior
Stamps with images done by a 3-year-old, or someone posing as a three-year-old (note: I don't mind the ones that are intentionally done like that, just the ones that are trying to sell them as real grown-up images if you know what I mean?)
collage-y look
comic sans
stores that are putting out way too many releases, which leads them to put out not-so-great sets or putting out 8 sets that really just variations on the same theme and not innovative (I'm not saying I could be innovative every month, but that also could be why I don't run a stamp company)
DT blogs where every new stamp release is, "even though I say this every month, the best one yet that I couldn't wait to ink up"

What a fun thread. I think it's neat to see everyones opinion.
My loves:
birds, flowers, butterflies, pink, pink and more pink. My fav colour is green but I have three girls and use a lot of pink in my scrap booking

I don't really have any "Hates" just a pet peeve really. Those stamps with the little furry mice on them. My Mom loves them and wants to collect them all but I just dislike mice. Yuck! I can't bring myself to think of them as cute.

I can appreciate almost every trend, especially if it's done in a CAS way.

Here are a few things that I strongly dislike:

Ticket corner punches, especially layers of them!
Images that are country cute-sy (like Holly Hobby).
Diamond shapes

I love this thread! Having so much fun reading everyone's response. Here's mine:

LOVE:

Memento Inks
PTI stamps
PTI card stock
PTI ribbons
PTI buttons
GinaK white cs
Houses stamps
Outlined stamps
Stamps that coordinate with punches, Nesties, dies, etc.,
A Muse
W9Plus (just discovered them and I'm hooked!) ;)

CAS
EK Success slim punches
Big Shot
Copics
Debbie Olson (for my Copics addition...this might go the other way as well! haha)
Julie Ebersol (haven't seen a card that I didn't love!) :p

HATE:

PTI inks
Whipper Snapper shipping charges (see above)
Vintage/Grunge look
Tim Holtz
Cards with too much embellishments
Cards with too much layers
People stamps without heads
DT blogs that only use the company stamps ON release days or sneak-peeks...makes me wonder if they really LUV that particular stamp company as they claimed.
Templates
Digital images
Child-like fonts

Stampinkitty, yes there's another pet hate, anyone who introduces their blog with " Hi i'm a stampin up demonstrator". Bye bye sampin up demonstrator, no variety on this blog then. I could end up on loads of hate lists now i suppose but yeah i should have said it in the first place "I h*** stampin up" .............sorry but there it is,shot myself in the foot , not my cup of tea.

I was having fun reading what ya'll wrote. I will add my 2cents for what it's worth, probably not 2cents any more!!

Love

most of my papers/card stock (have tons, I better like it!)
Copic
MS border punches ( I must as I have plenty)
nestie dies
fibers
inks of all brands
embossing folders (but I forget to use them)
all my fun tools

don't like so much

(birds with crowns and gumboots on sad little depressed looking children with watch parts for their bodies!) I was happy to know I am not the only one that does not care for this style.
all the kiddie style stamps that my adult friends would not relate to..... most are not stampers.
grunge

guess there is not too much I loath, just things I don't have!

Being the long-haired hippie-trash peace-freak that I am, for me stamping has always tended more toward counter-culture, something to rattle the cages of the more conservative types. Those stamps with no noses and mouths are creepy--ever read Harlan Ellison's "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream"? Anyway, I don't do "cute" except as a means to achieve "weird."

Love:
real rubber!! Okay, I'm a traditionalist, too!!
Prisma color pencils
Bazzill papers/cardstock (I've just discovered these); I'm intrigued by the color groupings and how I can use them

Loathe:
the aforementioned mouthless, noseless people, along with the abnormally large-headed people, and the round-footed people (the ones with no ankles), and the huge-eyed people
infantile words like embellies (and, by extension, the same use of such in the cross stitch world--silkies and fabbies)
cards so covered with embellishments that they need to be sent in boxes rather than fitting in their own envelopes
pens like Tombows (and how can anyone afford those Copics? $$$$$!!)

I'm sure there's more, but I'm in a hotel getting ready to go play tourist before the ballgame with Mark Harmon.
Sounds like fun!

This is fun!

love:
sewing on cards
aqua/turquoise
anything vintage
newsprint
bold image stamps that require no coloring
several different patterns of pp on the same card (I think it requires a lot of talent to pull it off that it looks right)
lots of different styles
clouds
white space

hate:
any stamp images of people/children/fairies
cutesy stamps and images

stuff I don't hate but am just "over it already!":
owls
deer
top note die
eyelets

There's really not much I hate, apparently. I just think most anything can look good if it's done right.

Things I love
Embossing powder! (Why does everyone hate it? I think it's one of the most magical substances ever!)
Versamark - both for my EP and just for watermarking
Ribbon, ribbon and more ribbon in every color and style imaginable (seriously - you should see my ribbon stash)
Having a wide variety of images - realistic, cutesy, line art, solid, etc. I know certain recepients like certain styles, so I love having the right stamp for my loved ones.
Flowers, butterflies, frogs and other animals - I don't think I could ever get tired of any of them
A wide variety of colors of cardstock and ink - I love them all! I only hate it when I run out of discontinued colors.
Nesties and embossing folders
Designer paper - I use it on almost every card
Sponging - it adds so much

It's funny to read how much stuff people loathe/dislike. I think most of what I don't like I just ignore. I don't even notice it enough to dislike it! The one thing I don't like is when cards are so busy you just don't know where to look. And the fact that most of those would never fit in an envelope. Which brings me to my one real dislike:

I hate it when a card challenge is to make an altered item or a card that won't fit in a standard envelope. I hate making that kind of thing because I know I will never use it!

Also I hate coloring line art images of people. I will never buy them. I don't hate them on other people's cards, but I hate using them.

small sized patterned paper

I'll give it a go. But fair warning, I'm an odd creative person and not big into trends, period.

LOVE:
Ribbon
Color
Embossing
Dimensionals
Copics
Stamps I can color with Copics
Floral stamps
Elegant script fonts
Rhinestones/Pearls
Buttons
Ink, ink, and more ink (see the love of color above)
textured cardstock
watercoloring
ink techniques (reinker spread, mist and stamp, resist, brayering, daubing, stamping off, etc)
matchy-matchy coordination
matching stamp/die/punch combos
Cling mounted stamps
GOOD QUALITY photopolymer stamps

TRYING TO LOVE:
patterned paper (love it; have a hard time using it)
glitter (huge mess!)

DISLIKE
distressed (I'm a CAS type of gal)
frou-frou (like the look of others' work but I suck at it)
overly vintage (a few swipes of light brown in to soften edges is great; sanding, tearing, crumpling, not so much)
Unmailable designs (no family close by)
distorted people/children
Anything missing body parts (like faces, heads, etc)
wood mounted stamps (take up too much space)
Cheap junk bought because it was well.....cheap.

Uh oh, I think I could go on for pages, LOL~ Better stop here. ;)

I love Sales! If it's on sale, I'll look, and probably buy.
Purples
Cats
Western themed stamps

I hate slow shopping carts or web sites. If it takes forever or if it crashes, I get frustrated. The best online carts add the items without taking me from where I'm shopping. Sizzix is like that and I think CutatHome also, their websites just keep a running tally in the corner of the page. Fast and easy to use! I much prefer that to constantly having to go back to where I'm trying to shop. It's like having to walk to the checkstand with each item, I'm not going to buy as much if I have to keep going back and forth.

Guess that really does bother me.>g

I will try this.. not big on trends

Love:
Scor-Pal, Scor-Mat, Scor-Bug, Scor-tape
excellent quality CS like Gina K and PTI
bling (gem stones, glitter, stickles, pearls, shimmerz, ect)
Pattern paper (mostly DCWV and K&Company but I also own small amounts of BG, making memories, Reminise, around the block, graphic 45 and BoBunny)
Cuttlebug with dies (including Nestabilities, shapabilities) &/or Embossing folders and texture plates
Distress Inks, crackle paints
vintage and shabby chic designs
Grunge designs
Mica powders (Pearl Ex and Perfect Pearls)
Guillotine cutter
Border punches
Prisma pencils with OMS
watercolor pencils
Brads/flowers
Bare Chip board
Flocked or glittered stickers
Rub-ons
Fabric stickers and adhesive canvas
paint
Birds/Butterflies/dragonflies
Flowers
masculine stamps
alcohol inks
Vellum
templates
Creative Memories cutting system (gems, Ovals and Circles)
ephemera
Almost anything sold under the Ranger trademark.

Dislike
eyelets for the most part
paper trimmers
videos with only music and no real verbal or written instructions
Some really old pattern paper I own
letter stickers
covered chipboard
fantastic coloring tools
alot of & 1 & 2 dollar stamps (I own alot of them but rarely ever use them)
stamps that look like a 3 year old could draw better
Copics (It is just a cost per marker thing- I can be frugal at times- well most of the time)
Clean and simple & bold graphic cards (I like some cards I have seen, but can't make 1 to my satisfaction)
Crystal Color Lacquer (I have made my own dew drops but it is alot of hassle)
Joanne Sheen, Carol Ann studio, Chris Warner, Sharon Duncan CD's and DVD's. I use them sometimes for an image but none of these videos are worth the cost, but since I have over 25 of then given to me at no cost - I shouldn't complain.
Crafters Companion Score board and enveloper.
scraps of CS or DP (I have way too much but have a problem throwing it away.
Distorted images of children (large heads, no mouth, ect)
Sewing on cards (I like how it appears on other peoples cards but not for me)- I prefer faux sewing
Too busy, too many layers especially when it is lots of DP layered.

I am sure there is alot more, but here is the things that come into my mind quickly!

I'm afraid to ask, but...

What is a kid with no head? Is there an example? I've never seen one.

This is fun, I love reading everyone's lists. Here are mine:

Like:
nestabilities
copics
cutesy stamps
magnolia
sweet pea stamps
anything princess or fairy tale
cricut
embossing folders
primas and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts
Glossy Accents
ribbon (tons of ribbon)
fun sentiments
dew drops
pearls
martha stewart border punches
design paper (love Basic Grey, K&CO., MME, etc.)
Stampin Up cardstock
...I could go on and one

Dislikes:
I'm not sure there's much I don't "like" so perhaps I should just phrase it as things I don't use:
chipboard
stickers
vintage
collage
tim holtz prodcuts
stamps I can't color
digi stamps (but only because I don't have a very good printer)

I'm sure I'll think of tons for things as soon as I post this, but this is a start at least. Thanks for starting this thread, this was fun!
