I was wondering about your transportation experience from the airport. I'm attending 2nd session and have not booked my shuttle. I'm not sure if Taxi or shuttle (either Big Sky or Super Shuttle) would be better. If you can give any insight - such as time, it would be much appreciatated!
My opinion, only mine, I would go with the shuttle rather than a taxi.
The shuttle is generally less expensive. The drawback is that it will go to a bunch of different hotels to drop people off unless there are enough people going to the same place and you manage to get on a shuttle at the same time.
The cabs will cost anywhere from 30 - 50 dollars depending on the company and where you are going.
It's a long way from the airport to downtown, I'd take the shuttle if I were needing a way to downtown. Fortunately I live here and already have parking at work. Thank goodness

I thought we were getting a "deal" with the Super Shuttle at $30 but I booked with Big Sky for $24 return, so I'm using them. I called today to confirm because I hadn't received a receipt and got it all sorted out. They said the frequency of vans at that time would be less than 10 minutes due to the volume of people, so hopefully they'll separate as they can so that the hotels are relatively in the same area. I'm arriving the afternoon before so I have plenty of time and NP for a small tour into the city!!!

But if you are splitting the taxi 3-4 ways wouldn't this be the way to go?

Thanks for the offer, but my sideline and friends are arriving in the morning. I'm a teacher and my flight leaves Los Angeles late afternoon and arriving at 6p.m I'm hoping to share a cab, but I think I'm going with the shuttle to save money which will mean more cash to shop at momento mall.
In the past I have found the taxis to be cheaper if you are splitting it with someone else! Not sure about this though in Denver guess I will find out Monday!

That's what we did. We were going to be spittling one four ways, but one unfortunate soul's flight was cancelled this morning. Split three ways we each paid $17, and it was a straight shot to our hotel.
Let me be honest. We used Big Sky and it was not a great experience. We booked online and booked a pick up time and waited over an hour to get someone to come. We had to call quite a few times!
And, if you are using Big Sky - MAKE SURE YOU PRINT OFF YOUR E-TICKET! This was a problem for some riding the shuttle. The driver does not get paid if he does not get the e-ticket.

I am attending session 2 and I called the Adam's Mark (where we are staying) and they recommended Super Shuttle. I called them and they said all we would have to do is go the the SS counter when we arrive on the 5th level at baggage claim and purchase our tickets ($19 round trip), then wait for the vans, which come every 10 mins. She said they are around the clock, b/c I was concerned about getting in around 9:30 pm, and my flight home leaves at 7:35 am. You reserve your ride back to the airport when you purchase your ticket. No need for reservations. Their phone # is 800-258-3826. I am coming with only 1 other person, and she's not flying back with me, so I'd have to take a taxi by myself on the way back, so this is def the more economical way for my situation. HTH
I just checked the Super Shuttle website thru SU's link and they are saying $30 round trip, so obviously whomever I spoke to was clueless. Guess I'll find out.

I had the same problem with the wait. I waited over an hour and watched several Super Shuttles full of demonstrators leave for downtown. If I hadn't already paid for Big Sky I would have jumped shipped!
I'm traveling to convention alone and my flight arrives in Denver on Monday at 11:15. I'm staying at the Adam's Mark hotel. If there's anyone else who will be arriving at around that time who is staying at the Adam's Mark, I'd love to meet up and share a ride - or at least find our way together.

Since I'm traveling alone and arriving so late, I doubt I will meet up with any other demos. It sounds like Super Shuttle is more organized and reliable. Also, I e-mailed Big Sky yesterday about being dropped off at the convention center and they have yet to e-mail me back.
Just be sure you have a printed confirmation for the shuttle service! I had to call them to have them resend it! The original went to my spam folder! That might eliminate some of the hold up!

Just a question: I printed off my 'receipt' from Big Sky. I did not have any times or dates on it. Should it have, or is the confirmation that I paid written on it all that they need because it has a transaction ID code?
Thanks for any info any of you have!

(I liked our SLC hotel better! It had free shuttle service!)

If I were you I would call Big Sky as soon as you get off the plane, before you get your baggage!
help! I need some info on this...sounds like Big Sky is not the way to go due to timing and reliability issues so that means either split a cab with my UL or take Super Shuttle. I can't get the online orientation on SU to load to get the Super Shuttle info (but thanks for giving the 800 number above!) however what I can't figure out is this....WHAT is the pricing? Is the SU price of $30 for both ways meaning it's $15 each way if you book the return fare option? or is it $30 each way?
If it's $30 each way and a cab is $47 flat rate then splitting a cab would be easier and cheaper. If it's $30 total for the round trip then that's a different story. Can anyone help me out here? Leaving in the early a.m. on Sunday. thanks!
We had no trouble with Big Sky. But make sure you have the actual tickets, not just the confirmation. And take the phone # because it is not printed on the tickets.
If you arrive at the same time many others do you may have to wait for the super shuttle even if you have a reservation. One lady told me she waited for 2 hours. We had the nightmare experience as being one of holiday inn's relocated guest and their shuttle service had much to be desired. We waited 2 hours for a ride. We found a limo service that was great and cost the same as a taxi. I believe it was 60-65 dollars from the airport to the hotel. Divided this by the number of passengers and it was cheap. Plus Will was a awesome driver. He took us back and forth to the holiday inn out in the boonies. There was no waiting for a shuttle in the morning. He was great. I would strongly suggest him. Will Jenkins, 720-275-3647. He does take credit cards. I would make a reservation for about 1/2 hour after your flight is to land in Denver.
We used a taxi - about $47 split between two peole but we would have liked to have another person to make it cheaper. I hear it is faster than the shuttle.
I attended session 1. I went with a group of 4 ladies. We took a taxi and it was $46. That was $12.50 each. It took about 30 minutes to the hotel/airport. There were ladies leaving to catch the shuttle the same time as us, except there flight left later. They had to go to other hotels and pick up other people. I would take the taxi!
I posted this in the other convention thread and thought I'd copy and paste it here for your information:
Be careful with Super Shuttle. My friend and I prepaid for both trips so we were stuck having to use them. The trip from the airport to the hotel went fine. However, trying to get back to the airport after convention was a NIGHTMARE!
We stayed at the Adam's Mark--which turned out to be the last stop on their schedule. We got a confirmation call the night before to be ready at 7:30 a.m. We were at the front of the hotel a little before 7:30. We saw ONE Super Shuttle arrive at 7:30. It only had room for the three ladies that were in line in front of us.
While we waited for over 45 minutes for another Super Shuttle to show up, a total of SEVEN Big Sky Shuttles came and picked up passengers, all in five to ten minute increments. Talk about frustrating!!!! When one Super Shuttle finally arrived, there were 11 people waiting for Super Shuttle and only nine could fit in the van. The last two demonstrators in line were NOT happy.
We almost missed our flight because of the shuttle delay. We had to get special permission to skip the long lines through security and then we had to RUN to our gate which, of course, was at the end of the terminal. My lungs were literally about to burst into flames when we got to the gate! I was definitely not used to the thin air there in Denver. We arrived home safe and sound, although our luggage did not make it home with us. Fortunately, though, the airline delivered them this morning.
Lesson learned: Don't use Super Shuttle--go with Big Sky. Don't prepay. If we hadn't already purchased our round trip tickets with Super Shuttle, we could have hopped on one of the numerous Big Sky Shuttles and not been late to the airport.

We wnt with Super Shuttle and had no problems. We did not do the discount online ahead of time but when we told the girl at the airport that we were with SU she gave us the discount. We were at The Curtis (the BEST plave to stay:-)) and we had several super shuttles waiting outside our door.
