I got my stamps last week and am so out of my comfort zone. I have however been having a ball playing with them. So ladies if you have these stamps lets see your creations!! I have two cards made and just have to up load them. Now off to create more.

I only wish, still missed out each time I went to purchase. Being in Australia I have to wait till I need a few things or the postage prohibits me from buying. Then I get ready to buy and they are out of stock, will get there eventually. I love these birds and have seen some fantastic watercolours with them. Look on google image type in name of stamp and lots should come up.
I plan on getting these birds when I go to a stamp convention later this month - Stamper's Anonymous always has a nice big booth! I've seen a couple different things created with this set that were too cute. The one that really made me have to have it was this art journal page: Spotlight on Tim Holtz - Day 1 - Clips-n-Cuts. My DD and I love Miss Vicky (I have no idea how to say her last name, so that's what we call her. LOL).
I have had this set for a week now. Just have not had time to play.

I have a set but I have not used them yet. With so many people here getting them I am expecting to see the gallery flooded-and looking forward to it! Give me some ideas! I know they look great in bright colors!
There are a few people on YouTube that have used the birds!! Kristina Werner for one, Sandy Allnock and Vicky Papaioannou. Also just look on Pinterest. A lot there.
I need to get them, they are so funny!!
I love these Crazy Birds but I know I could never make them look great so I wont be buying them.
Well, so much for that! I have been seeing cards made with these Crazy Birds and I love them so much that I caved - emailed my LSS yesterday and she has one set left ... so I am picking it up on Saturday. Not sure if I can do these birds justice but I will give it a go! I don't use copics, so would watercolouring them be the next best thing?
deb-loves-stamping, I saw a You Tube vid the other day where someone had used them in a journal( you could do the same thing on a card), by creating a background, then drawing a line across it, to sit the birds on. Then she stamped the birds onto spare paper, and cut them out, not bothering with the legs/any sticky-out bits. She coloured the birds by just sponging on two different colours of DI ink, then stamped the outline again sitting on the line. Then she stuck the birds over the stamped ones, then gave each one a speech bubble to say 'Happy Birthday To You'. I forgot, she also used a masking fluuid over the eyes, before she coloyured the birds, then rubbed it off after.
I coloured mine with pencils and OMS. They make me very happy. I am no artist but I do like what I have done. I just googled the stamp set and found ideas.

we used that very technique in 2 of my art journaling classes. Makes it so easy. You can also do it this way and stamp on paper with a small pattern, but out and place on the stamped journal page. Love these birds!!
When I saw a bunch of samples of these on Pinterest, I had to buy them. Finally got around to playing with them, and they are a breeze! I used watercolors, and blending colors for the feathers is rather easy. Those faces allow you to use so many phrase stamps, or make up your own!!
Wow. If only I could get this excited about house cleaning or sex... I'm odd, but I seem to be in good company here. :0
LOL, but you have my sympathy.
However, I'm thinking you put an apron on one of those birds, use your quote and you've got a great card...

I've seen these birds with hats on them but can't find the right hat stamp. At least that's my excuse for not having taken them out of the package since I bought them weeks ago. An apron is a good idea too.
Okay - you got me! I just pre-ordered these. Too cute!
LOL. My DD saw the one with all the accessories and said "We have to get that set Mommy. We just HAVE to!" Luckily she remembers waiting to get the bird set, so she has a vague understanding that we have to wait for it.

I'm with your daughter - I HATE to wait!
I'm going to have to get out my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, too. Since the stamps are cling mounted, and not clear, I won't be able to see where to stamp the hats on the birds' heads unless I do. I wonder if I will need to use the masking technique, too.

Has anyone seen the upcoming Sizzix release? The matching thinlets for the crazy birds stamps and it looked like it includes accessories as well, hats etc.

OMG... just watched the video about the bird dies - now I need those too! I'm not a good enough fussy cutter to get the curlicues on the top of their heads. According to what he said in the video the dies for the accessories will be out in October.
I want them too but I will have to hope there is some kind of sale...ouch.
I dont want the hat stamp set though...and I feel like they took ideas for those from here since I have already seen a lot of those kinds of ideas here. Just sayin'.....I have hat stamps, etc. I can use in my masculine stuff. Hmmm...I just realized no one has stuck a moustache on a bird yet! No Frito Bandito birds yet!
I went back to look at the post I received a couple of days ago. There were birds dressed for Christmas, Halloween and a Patriotic one as well. So I took a look and found the new accessory set called Crazy Things, no doubt those thinlits will soon follow as well. Stampers Anonymous and Sizzix are killing all our wallets, lol!
Well, I can say these dies are neat. But I do think they are a little pricey.
Plus I have had this stamp set since April, and have made all birthday cards out of this set so far.
NOW
the die set comes out.
Why did it take so long is my question.

I saw a You Tube video of someone using these birds on a journal page. She stamped and cut out the birds bodies, without the curly bits/legs etc. Then she coloured them. Next she stamped the birds again on her page, and stuck the coloured birds on top- giving them their legs and curly bits back again.
