Default A ? for those who do a lot of the recipe swaps?

Where do you put all your recipes? A 6x6 book would fill up pretty quickly if you done a couple of swaps. So I was wondering do you have different books for each category? Like a book for appetizers and one for main dishes and one for desserts and so forth. I was just curious how everybody does theirs.

I haven't done a LOT of recipe swaps. Since I already own over 150 cookbooks, I only signed up because the pages are so cute. Then I put all the cookie recipes into a book and gave it as a Christmas gift to my daughter.

I bought some of the ring clips at Staples and covered cardboard to make the covers. That way I can keep adding them in where ever I want and If it gets too full, I'll just get bigger rings!

I'm in a group that has done several 8 x 8 recipe page swaps. Each one has a "theme". The first was Soups/Chilis. The second was Crockpot/Casseroles and the last one was Salads. We make a book for each "theme". The "hostess" of the swap punches each page with her rubicoil and sends us each 2 pieces of cardboard to make covers for the book.

Here are the covers for the books I've made so far:

Mary I love that idea of binding each book individually. I don't have a rubicoil but it's not too expensive to have it done at Office Depot. That way you can pull out the recipe book that you are specifically looking for. This would really be great for sesonal type recipes. Any Mary I must say your covers are great! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the nice compliments on my covers. When it comes to stamping, I'm very insecure sometimes and need all the reassurance I can get!

The only thing about them being bound with the rubicoil is that if you really use them to cook, they could get dirty...I made copies of the recipes I wanted to make and keep the recipe book looking pretty!

EmGee458 can you tell us how your recipe club or group runs. It sounds really interesting to me as I'm the same as GarnetJ - I have many, many recipe books. Abit of a collector. Very nice covers, I particularly love the soups/chili as its brown/blue (love those 2 colors together)

Our recipe swaps are very easy- just like any other swap. The hostess sets a theme, there are usually 14 or 15 of us in the swap. Each person decides on a recipe and designs their page, making one for everyone in the swap. The recipe pages are sent to the hostess who then will punch each page with her rubicoil. She will in turn return one of everyone's page to each participant along with 2 squares of cardboard which is also punched to be decorated and used as covers for the books. We decided to do 8 x 8 pages so that we'd have more room for the recipe and lots of stamping and embellishments.
