I have two weddings to attend in April and being on a tight budget I decided to make gifts instead of purchasing one. My idea was to give a set of Thank You cards. I realize that both brides will probably get LOTS of gifts but what would be an appropriate amount of cards to give as a set? I was thinking somewhere around 8 or 12. Any ideas?
Maybe take a look at some premade ones at the store and see what is the most common number in a set. I usually make 8 for a set, but sometimes I do 10 for full size A2 cards. Depends on how much paper I have and how energetic I feel. If I were doing the small 3x5 cards, I probably would do 10 or 12.
Looks like it's going to be 8 per set A2 sized
I am using some small 6x6 scrap pack books that had the Decorative Paper I wanted, and there were only 8 pages of each, so that made my decision easy
I guess if either of the brides request more I will just have to tell them they will be different papers
I know way back when I got married I ordered my thank you cards with my invitation. What do you think about a name frame? or general cards such as birthday or thinking of you or blank cards? We did name frames as a project for stamp club on year and I was amazed at how cheap you can get frames for now days.
I have done two sets of thank you cards, wedding themed. After the ceremony I may grab a keepsake and make them a shadow box using their colors/theme and send to them. Depends on what it is
A wedding a while back they gave all the ladies a folding fan, I still have it someplace I was hoping to make them an anniversary gift using that and a photo or their wedding invitation
When my hubby's nephew got married last August I made 24 Thank you cards A2 size and packaged each set of 12 in one of the clear boxes from Papertrey. Then I made a pretty belly band to go around both boxes...They turned out really nice and the presentation was fabulous...It was not all we gave the newlyweds but they sure liked the unique idea. The Thank you cards were Monogrammed with the first letter of their last name.
blessings.
I would think fewer would be fine if you were going to make them fancy, and they could give them to the extra special people (or those who gave really nice gifts?!) such as immediate family and so on. If you were doing a CAS type one, maybe something in their wedding colors but one-two layers with an embossing folder doing a lot of the "work" I'd feel like doing more.
Monogrammed cards would be nice too! I like your idea.
OOOOOO! That's an EXCELLENT idea!!!! I'm thinking of making some for my neice for her gradutaion thank yous....(I'm going to use a mortar board or tassel for those!)
My nephew's daughter is having twins!! I made her 24 note cards for her to use. Told her she could use for thank you or whatever she wanted I found a digi with two bunnies so that's what is on the front of her card. She loved them especially since they were made for her!! Any bride would love handmade cards which were made for her on her special day!
