I was wondering if y'all thought the tearing egde was worth the 20 bucks. I may be making 50+ wedding invitations & wonder if now would be the right time to buy one.
I read on here somewhere that you could use the Pampered Chef bread knife, so I have been using that, and it works great! The tearing is perfectly even. I haven't tried the tearing edge, but I would think it would be a great product. I would rather spend my money on stamps though.
I have the tearing edge and don't like it because it is very difficult to tear the cardstock. It might be ok if you want to tear off about four inches but I had problems trying to tear less than an inch.
I have it. Someone gave it to me because she hated it and I was tearing impaired. I have to admit it is pretty bad!! Just use a paint brush to wet where you want to tear and then tear away. The edge wrecks the paper by kind of crumbling it. Just my opinion!!

I have it...it's ok... I tear with my fingers....if you have something cool you want to trade for it I would be happy to....very linear people like it...or at least my linear friends like it...my non-linear friends tear with their fingers....
I looked at them and decided my money was better spent elsewhere. Like the others, I use a paint brush/water and my fingers. But here's a tip: lay the cs that you want to use on your card flat on the table and hold it flat with your hand. Tear from the waste side of the paper and you'll get less wrinkling of the 'good' part.
Hi! I bought a tearing edge at Michaels made by Plaid earlier this year. It was much less expensive, around seven dollars, I'd guess. You know what? I like just tearing with my fingers better, it's easier and looks better! I'd find one to try before buying, get stamps!!! Arlynn
I received the tearing edge from a friend. I have mixed feelings about it. It's hard to use and if it wasn't a gift from a friend I rather use my money on something else. I did however purchased a fiskars deckled cut scissors that has the tearing edge look and I like it a lot.
I love mine! Sometimes I just want a nicer tear (if there is such a thing) and it's the first thing I reach to, if I don't want my fingers doing the tearing. I bough mine on ebay (blush) so I only paid $10. However, if I'm tearing a small piece of paper I have to use my fingers - the Tearing Edge is better for tearing larger pieces of paper (in my opinion).
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me
I have one simply to demo for my customers, but I don't like it. It's too "perfect".... like a scissor cut it rather than a true tear. I prefer the random look from tearing with my fingers. But for those who are tearing challenged it works.
I'm pretty linear most of the time, but I still don't like it. As some said, if you have only a small amount of paper on one side, it's difficult. If you are in the middle of a page, it's fine, but then the side in your hand is pretty much ruined by the experience. If I use my fingers, I can do it without ruining the whole rest of the page.
A friend left hers at my house, on purpose. I used it once just because it was there. That's how I learned what I didn't like. $20? No way.

OMG that is a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I love being able to provide "alternative uses" for our products to my customers I'm going to go try that right now
I make around a hundred cards a day more if the juices are flowing. I rip most of the paper by hand, so you should have no problem. I wouldn't spend the $20. on that that when there is so much to choose from that is worth the money.

I wouldn't spend the money on the tearing edge. I posted in a previous post that my Pampered Chef Demo, shared with me that she saw the tearing edge, and decided to try out the bread knife. I have one, but I am chicken cause it is so dang sharp. She has done some beautiful cards doing it. But, I like tearing by hand.
