I just watched Beate's video on how to make an adorable little tea light birthday cake (love your videos, Beate - thanks for taking the time to share your talents with others!).
I would like to make one of those cakes but don't know where to find those battery operated tea lights that have a little flame on them. Are they easily found at Michael's or Joann's? I'm pressed for time since I need to make one by tomorrow and won't have time to order them on-line from anywhere.
Would appreciate some tips on where I should go to buy some on my way home from work tonight.
I found LED tea lights at Joann. Their brand name is Victoria Lynn from Darice, Inc., and they were in the wedding section. The light flickers like a candle flame.
Can't wait to go shopping after work and then go home to get started on this project. Now, let's hope the Joanne's has them in stock -my luck hasn't been good lately... so I wouldn't be surprised if someone picks up the last of these tea lights right before I get there! ;)
Do you have a link to the tutorial? I would love to see it.
Thank you.
Thank you for asking because this gives me an opportunity to credit the correct author, Anne Harada. Here's a link to her tutorial... Splitcoaststampers - Tealight Cake Tutorial

LOL... It's always dangerous to mention a specific supply on the forums here. That's a sure way for the stores to sell out of it.
Thanks for giving credit where credit is due, Judi - Anne's project is adorable and Beate's videos are a big help to people like me who are challenged when it comes to following written instuctions! ;)
I did these as a project for my club and they turned out so cute! I'm hoping to get a gallery started this weekend and will post pics then.
If you can get them at Dollar Tree, do that. They are 2/$1 there. Mine was sold out because they are considered a summer seasonal item.
I ended up getting them at JoAnn's and they were pricey-an 8 pack for $9.99. Luckily the nice girl at the register let me use two 40% off coupons so I ended up only paying $6 for the pack. Even so, that's still way more than Dollar Tree! The JoAnn's lights also had a weirdly tall "flame".

I made a little gallery!
I will certainly hop into Dollar Tree first since they seem to have a better price.
But you know how us crafty people can get sometimes when we've got an idea in our head and we just need to get a craftin'.... I might have to give Joann's or Michael's my business if Dollar Tree turns out to be a bust. I guess crafting is good for the economy and tough on our wallets sometimes - LOL
Thank goodness for Scrappin' Cricut and her coupons - she's usually got a valid coupon I can put to use - but unfortunately there's not one listed for this week. I'm scrounging around the office like a nut looking for some old sale flyers - it's not looking good though.... so I guess I'm off to do the economy some good!

I got them at Walgreens for a pretty good price - 6 in a pack with a preprinted price of $4.99 - and they might have been on sale besides. This was last Halloween, though, so I'm not certain if they still have them.
Glad someone asked about this...I've never seen these & they're perfect little something with a card! I went to Walgreens and bought the tealights...finished my first one w/matching card. I didn't have a punch...but I have an electronic cutter to cut a 2" scallop circle and mark the center.... THANK YOU!
