I've used either temporary adhesive to attach my directions, or I put the whole thing in a clear envelope and put the instructions in with it.
They like to donate the cards so they want full cards not card fronts. I think you may be able to get them back now if you send postage...but I know you couldn't used to. I don't mind them donating them...but the bad part is you don't know for sure if they are holding them for future issues (which they do do) or if they've been donated...so you can't really submit the same card to a different magazine.
If they hold them for future publications do you still get a free magazine they publish it in? Listen to me! I act like this is a possibility!

I like your optimism! I just submitted 4 cards to them (first time ever) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Melanie, Did you submit to a particular challenge or to the over all "ten minutes or less" catagory? I, too, am submitting for the first time. One of my customers has finally convinced me to at least try. I am entering the Template Challenge. I'll post them after I send them. Good luck to every body!
If they hold your submissions for possible publication in future, you will not receive a copy of a magazine until one of your submissions is actually published.
I always send whole cards. I print my personal contact info, materials, and instructions off on my printer and adhere to the back side of the card with mono.
Good luck! I would consider sending some general cards outside of the Template Challenge as well. My experience has been that they receive lots of entries for the templates, so you may have better luck with some general under 10 minute cards.

I was concerned about putting my personal information right on the card as they say they donate them after words. Do they remove all of that information first if it's on with SNaiL? I attached my directions and personal info with a paper clip on the back of each card, put each card in a separate baggy with my personal info and title of card on the baggy, too. What do you think? Help! Should I still put a personal info label on the back of each card if they are being donated after words?
It seems that with this publication more than others, they tend to have some trouble crediting items properly. They work with a ton of cards and details and obviously, they publish a lot more card than the typical publication does, so that could be a reason. For that reason, I do think it's important to clearly label the cards with your personal info and for that info to be adhered to the card. Since they scan the cards they publish, they will have to removed from the baggie and it's that point at which I would be concerned with the info being separated from the card. It would stink to send them in, and then have it published but not credited properly!
Honestly, I don't know how they go about donating them or what they do with the personal info. I have had success in contacting them by phone, so if you are concerned, perhaps you can just give them a call and ask about that part. I found their number through the Stampington website and was able to talk to an actual person right away the times that I have called.

Hey, I have some of these cards right here in my house since I redo some of the contest cards from Stampington for Keiki Cards. Take Ten is a Stampington magazine.
So the question on full or card fronts:
I have found both among the cards and in many cases the way the info is attached to the card it has to have the front cut off and mounted on another piece of cardstock.
In case youre wondering: we cant pass these cards on until all the personal information is removed.
Some of these cards are a real stretch to make into kids cardsa metal naked lady comes to mindbet the teen boys would have liked that one but she got a date with the garbage can!
As far as Take Ten or Stampers Sampler goes, I have had more luck, actually, getting published when submitting for an actual challenge or template. I always type all my personal info along with the directions on a piece of paper which will fit the size of the card and then attach it with mono tape to the back of the card front. Sometimes I have had to contact them for my "free" magazine after my sister tells me one of my cards is in there, but they have definitely gotten better at getting out the comp issues as of late.
Go for it! It's a lot of fun to see your work in print!
I always send full cards and attach my info with 2 sided tape. I do not print it on the actual card because they do give them away. I've had better luck with Take Ten. I find if you make a few cards with the same colors it works because that is how they do their page layouts.
They have a 1-800 number (I'm sure it's at their website) and you can talk to someone who actually works for the company if you're still not sure what to do (though I think you've been given good advice here).
Good luck with your submissions! You never know what they will publish . . . I've had some of my best cards published, some of my average cards published, and too many really fabulous cards ignored! So you never know. Also, they save cards for other publications, so if yours doesn't make the issue you've submitted for, it may still get published somewhere.
