I got this same info last week from my demo, but I did not realize it was the summer mini, I thought for some reason it was the hostess sets. duh!!!!!!!!!!!!

noooooooo but the new Hostess sets are pretty neat... a bit better than the ones in the catty now I think.
I agree, Kar! I"ve only seen a few samples from 4 of the 15 new hostess sets (Provencal, Island Blossoms, Small Script and Along the Same Lines) and I'm so excited about them! I love the Provencal and if it ends up being a level 3, I might even get up enough courage to host a party so I can get it.
In Minnesota and got mine today. I liked 3 of the sets out of it so this one isn't going to make me broke.. I just can't wait till the new catalog comes out this summer tho...
I'm a demo and no mini in AZ yet, but I love the descriptions! Can't wait. I wish I had customers so excited and planning their order this early! I have been buying re-inkers for the retiring colors so down the line if I have a customer who needs a "re-fill" I'll be ready! Only classic though, I need some cash to get more sets!
My demo has her summer mini - I told her to make me a photo copy for me. I will be swinging by in 2 hours to get it!
YIPPPEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just FYI, any scanning/photocopying, etc. is not allowed. I'm sure your demo is excited that you're excited, but since you won't be able to order anything in it until June 1st there isn't a huge rush to have your own copy, right?
I love it when my customers want to see my upcoming mini (which I *just* got today in northern Illinois) but I am sure that none of them would want me to break the law to do so. Instead, I invite any of my customers to look at my preview copy with me.
Got mine today in Idaho. I was actually pleased that I only think I'll buy 2 of the sets cause the spring mini has broke me and I still have things to get....
Maybe I've gotten so many things that I'm not as temptable. I liked many of the sets, but I have similar things and just don't want to add more bulk. I want new things. Well, I'll probably get the monkeys. Great for boy pages. And that Take Shape set. Love hot air balloons. Very flexible.
Hope you all have your curiosity satisfied soon.

Are you APO FPO???
I got "mine" yesterday but have been sooo busy, I took a quick look and personally only want the military set.
Which brings me to this...if your in the military (APO/FPO) and know you'll get yours when h*ll freezes over, let me know and I'll sent it to you. (I know how the military mail tries harder.)
BTW, It's mailing from PORTLAND oregon and it's PRESORTED STANDARD, so it's not bulk rate-slow, but not priority fast either!
I STILL think SU should have posted it on thier website for ALL to see at the SAME time, talk about level playing field! lol!

I can't believe no one (MamaK, LOL) pounced on this little tidbit and demanded to hear more. I must say i'm intrigued by a couple of the sets mentioned, but I never manage to get above a level one. I swear I buy more at friends' parties than they ever do mine. Maybe I just need new friends....

WordTrix, since the hostess sets have been on the demo's website at Stampin' Up since Feb 15, I think MamaK must already know about them. But since it's old news and Kar mentioned them already, I think I can post the sets here for you without having anyone throw bricks at me. As I said, I've only seen a couple samples from 4 of the sets so I'm just guessing here which sets are which. Here ya go:
Provencal - same style as Garden Collage. I've only seen examples from three of the stamps - a European castle turret, a vintage looking wine label and a rooster. Now all three samples have script behind the stamps and two have postmarks but I don't know if the script comes with the stamps or if it's part of the next set, which is:
Small Script - perhaps one of the demos or MamaK can tell us.
Along the Same Lines - same style as Nice & Narrow. I saw a cake with 3 long candles (wish big!) and 3 potted christmas trees (celebrate!).
Island Blossoms - same style as Burst into Bloom but a little more exotic looking.
Those are the only samples I've seen but the other sets are: Around the Block, Pocket Full of Posies, Timeworn Trim (this sounds interesting!), Flowers of Gratitude, Say It Simply, Made from Scratch, Haute Couture, Reverse Prints, Fashion Statements, Nature's Secret, and Oh, My Word.
Hopefully, MamaK has better info on these sets for us. But hope this'll do for now.
I certainly didn't think you'd turn her in, but I posted what I did for 3 reasons:
1. Because she's your demo/friend, I thought you'd want to know that what you asked her to do is against the law. As a friend of hers, I'm sure that you would want to protect her from breaking a law, even if she never got caught. Possession of bootlegged material is also a crime (remember the people who were arrested for music pirating?), so I posted what I did also to protect you. Again, likelihood of getting "caught" is extremely low, but like I tell my kids, it's wrong even if you don't get caught.
2. To educate other customers on this board also about the law, in case they were inspired by your example and also asked their demonstrator to photocopy or scan the mini. As I said earlier, since customers can't order from this mini until June 1, there isn't a rush for a customer to have their own personal copy. Demonstrators may order copies for their customers where Stampin' Up! will mail them to the customers in approximately mid-May, and/or demos can order bulk copies of the Summer Mini so that they can mail them with their monthly newsletters, or include in workshop info packets, etc.
3. Because demonstrators read this board, to educate new and/or demonstrators who are not new but are not aware of the copyright implications of what you asked your demo to do. Some may have thought - "Wow, great idea!"
Thanks for letting me explain why I posted what I did. It certainly wasn't my intent to imply that you should turn your demonstrator in.
Thank you for describing some of the sets you've seen samples for, and for listing titles of other new hostess sets. You're right -- some of those do sound rather intriguing. I love the description of the "Provenal" and "Small Script" sets, and "Timeworn Trim" also piques my curiosity. I figure...what, only about ten more weeks before I can get the new catalogue from my demo? Hmm...maybe eleven, depending on schedules. But who's counting, right?
Thanks again, Heather

Heather, you're welcome! It's fun to look forward to doing a summer party with all the new stuff. If there's anyone out there who'll describe the rest of the sets, we'd appreciate it if you could throw us a bone and fill in the blanks.
Karen, thanks for clarifying what the Small Script is. Now I realize it wasn't the script behind the stamps (that must be part of the stamps) but it was the greetings on the cards I saw - "I miss you", "always" and "wish". I like the WW sets and am glad they're adding one as a hostess set. Oh, I'm going to have to have one great party! Thanks again for letting us know.
..."any scanning/photocopying, etc. is not allowed."
It's my understanding that you can photocopy anything for your own personal use, as long as its not done for profit, without violating copyright laws. For example, I have never cataloged my sets, because in the beginning, I never envisioned owning so many. I now find the need to do so, and the easiest way for me to do it, at this point, is to scan pages of the catalog that contain the sets I own and put them in a binder. These copies will be for my own personal use. I don't think that's illegal.
On another note...Maybe Timeworn Trim is a set of ribbon and stitches stamps!

OOoohh! I saw a set from Hero Arts (my second fav stamp co.) and they have a stich set. I was thinking that it would be great if SU had one. That way you could get the look w/o breaking off the needles.
This doesn't help non-demos but demos can see the summer mini by doing a little retyping in the SU web site. Someone posted this on another thread so I tried it last night and sure enough....I got to see the new sets!
Bring up the spring mini page and then in the url address substitute summer for spring.
My demo showed me the summer mini today. She and I were both very disappointed in it! The only sets I like were Monkey Business (TOO CUTE!!!) and Backyard BBQ. Oh! And the hostess appreciation set, but since I'm not going to be able to have a party or buy $400 worth of stuff, I guess I won't get that unless someone else wants to trade. The curlicue wheel was okay. The military set was nice, but all the guys I know are cops, not military! The tag alphabet is really cute, but the tags are rectangle shaped, not "tag" shaped. The Cattitude set was not very cute, IMO. The lines were really squiggly, and the expressions on the animals were kinda crabby. The veggie set was creepy, and the farm animal set was just weird. I like the "On the Farm" set in the current catalog much better. I'm looking forward to the new IB&C in July though!
