Default SU Watercolor crayons are a winner!

Don't ask me why, but I had never ordered the Watercolor Wonder crayons. Recently, I did decide to give them a try, and was I in for a very pleasant surprise! They are so easy to use and make my coloring look very artistic with shading and details. In fact, I had tried the method with the Prismcolor pencils and the odorless????? mineral spirits, and using the SU watercolor Wonders is so much easier and faster, too, with much the same result! I am not a Demo for SU......only a good customer, but I wanted to share this with all of you who just might not have tried these marvelous watercolor crayons. They certainly got the name right......."Wonder" !

I like 'em so much, I am watercoloring MORE--just cuz I enjoy working with 'em!!! At first, I was chaffing, thinking, "Oh, no. I'm so lazy that I prolly won't watercolor enough to make it worth the investment . . . " But, I hafta admit, I reach for them more and more often, and LOVE the results I get!!!!

They just color and blend so NIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!! They are different from other watercolor mediums--ery easy. Softer and more subtle than other mediums.

I'm not sure how else to describe them, except that I just really likes 'em!

LOL! I have them, but so far I've only used them with blender pens -- using the blender pen directly on the crayon and then onto the paper.

It sounds like you use them like watercolor pencils, Julie? I'll have to try that! Thanks!

I use 'em with my AquaPainters--I love working with a brush? I load the brush tip by flicking it directly against the crayon.

This is what I do...I use my watercolour brush, dip it in water and pick up the colour from the crayon and paint with it. The crayons are so smooth! I also use my aquapainter.

I absolutely love mine too. So far I've only used the blender pens, I'll order the aqua painter when the new catty comes out. I use them similar to how I use watercolor pencils, color and then blend. In fact, I'm no longer interested in purchasing stamp sets I can't color. No more solid images for me!

I still do most of my coloring with Prismacolor pencils, but I use the watercolor crayons to do the backgrounds for my colored images. They work great for this as the Prismacolor isn't affected by water, so the main image won't blur.
Here's an example of what I mean:

I have mine a couple of months now and I have to say they may have cost alot of money but they are worth every penney.

Just love to have all the SU colors. They are just so easy to work with especially with the aquapainter.

I love mine I use auqa painters too, but also enjoy doing two step stamping flowers with them. I just use the crayon to color the stamp then mist with water and stamp. The results are beautiful!! ( obviously with the two step flowers I use two complimentary colors, one on each stamp)

Happy Heart, I put your example in my favorites, gorgeous!

I wanted to ask you a question about that card. You listed clear EP in your accessories. How did you use clear EP on that card? I'm curious if you used it to set your outline so that it doesn't fade or run w/the watercoloring?

I love to watercolor, but often have a problem with the outlines running.
