The current mini sets are offered in both, and going forward, it sounds like new sets will be offered in both clear mount and wood mount, but not sure if they are planning on offering clear mount in older sets.
The only official announcement I've seen is that new stamps in the new catalog will be available as clear-mount. So, you can definitely count on new designs coming out with that option, but I am not positive about the designs that carry over into the next catty.
I'm not sure if you already know this or not, but the rubber is actually exactly the same for the wood-mount and the clear-mount for Stampin' Up! products... one of the many advantages, in my opinion! So if you really wanted certain images to be clear-mount, you could just not mount them onto the wood and use them with your clear blocks. You can either purchase the DVD-like storage cases in bundles of 4 or just store them in the clear clamshell containers still, perhaps fitting more than one set in each container if you're trying to save space.
Hope that helps! I'm sure more updates will be coming out soon, but that's what I've heard so far.
 Ok. The rubber is the same, but is the adhesive the same? Do you need to do something to the stamp so that it doesn't permanently adhere to the clear block? Is my question as confused as I am???

The rubber is the same but the adhesive is NOT the same. You'll need to either: (1) remove the foam backing from the stamps and use either a tacky substance (like Alene's Tack it Over and Over) to the bare rubber or apply EZ mount to the bare rubber or (2) use thin EZ mount on top of the already existing foam.
Be careful when you remove the foam from the rubber as SU rubber is not as thick as it once was and can tear. SU's foam has also cheapened in recent years so it can also tear or not come off in one piece when you're trying to unmount. You can still unmount the stamps, you just have to take a bit more care.

No. You're right. The adhesive is not the same. The clear mount stamps are mounted on a cling foam. The wood mount stamps are mounted on a sticky foam intended to be permanently adhered to wood blocks.

Sorry for any confusion! Glad kikikaren could help clarify
The reason I was asking is because if the stamps I want to buy from the catty now are going to have the clear mount option then I will wait for the clear mount so I don't have to go through the hassel of unmounting them. Thanks for all the info.
What I've done with my unmounted stamps is just not mount them. I put the sticker over my stamp sticky foam (to create a index) after trimming the stamp down then I put Tack it over and over on the sticker. I'm loving it.
I know the clear mount are cheaper though. I am hoping that they will come out with that as an option for all their sets.

I can be kinda dense sometimes so I hope I am understanding this correctly. If you buy wood option SU! stamps, you don't mount them on the wood. You put the clear sticker on the foam, I am assuming you trim it to fit, then put ATIOO on it and use it that way.
Jill, SU's only official word on clear-mount (cling) sets in the next catalog is that "a selection" of sets would also be available in the catalog. Nothing specific such as telling us that "all new sets" or whatever would be in cling. I would imagine they would have wanted to gauge market reaction over some period of time before deciding and/or announcing anything more than that.
Ladies, thank you so much for all your info (especially, kt3, for the You Tube demonstration!) on unmounting stamps. I've wanted to do this, but didn't know how. I'm so glad I stumbled on this thread! Thank you, everyone!
