I don't have one, but have heard lots of complaints about it not spinning that well.
I bought a caddy from www.portaink.com and love it. It spins freely and I've never had an ink pad fly out of it (which is the reason that SU gives for their caddy not spinning freely). Mine holds 48 pads +reinkers. There are 'handles' on the side for carrying it, but I would not take the whole thing to a crop. when I moved, I did stick the whole thing down in a box and it arrived with all the pads & reinkers exactly where I left them, and nothing was broken. Very sturdy and takes up about 1 sq ft of my table.
My daughter and I are both SU demos. I bought her the SU Pad organizer for Christmas but I was dissapointed with the quality. So for My self I bought the wood one with a spinner from suink.com. They have several different ones to choose from and the one that holds the 48 pads like SU is the same price. I choose the one that holds 60 pads, reinkers, markers, and the rollers. It was pricey but is really sturdy and turns really well. I am very pleased and it was worth the price. My daughter is envious of mine now and is going to try to sell hers and upgrade!

Thanks for your comments.... I check out suink.com however and all it brought up was a hairy guy in a bikini with a big gold cross and chain (LOL) www.suink.com ....does he carry your stamps for you? Or maybe perhaps you meant another site?
By the way, I love my Color Caddy! I guess it's a matter of opinion.
Well, now that makes a lot more sense. I really couldn't figure out how the big hairy guy fit into the picture!
I'm forever searching for the right tote and organizers for my SU stuff. I'm secretly hoping that if I find the magic combination then I may actually be able to see my dining room table again (although I'm not going to hold my breath)
I have TWO color Caddy -- so I guess that tells you what I think of them. I LOVE mine! I LOVE that they don't "spin" - they "turn". With all creatures great & small in my house I need something that is not going to accidentally release a pad or go spinning off the table. BTW - they do seem "wobbly" until you fill them up and get some weight in them. LOVE - LOVE - LOVE them! Easy to transport also. If it was "spinny" I can't imagine driving to a WS . . .
I have the color caddy too and I really like it. It turns nicely and holds the pads perfectly. I know they are secure in theor slots. The little boxes on top hold reinkers or I put my specialty inks in there (versamark, silver, gold, etc).

I too have the SU ink caddy, I was unhappy with the rough spinning so I set it on top of a kitchen rubbermade turntable (or whatever you call it). It's just the right size that fits under the base of the SU caddy and now I spin!
I bought a CD caddy from Hobby Lobby that works great. It is wood and will fit 80 ink pads. I did have to fit a couple of dollar store sponges next to the pads to keep them steady. I keep my Undo and different glues, stampin mist and such in some of the slots. This was on sale and only cost 35-40 dollars and is very nice. Check out the furinture dept.
I really love mine. When I first put it together, I was unhappy but once you put your ink pads in it makes it. It does not spin, but does turn. I do not have kids but do have a lot of little visitors so I am not afraid they will spin the pads across the room. My demo is waiting until the new caddy comes out to see if they include more slots.

I was just going to say, too, that I'd be thinking of waiting til the new catalog comes out, just in case SU has addressed some complaints in the current caddy, or if they've even come out with something new to accomodate the neutrals...
I just have to say that I started looking at this thread to find out about caddies before I get one. I had to check out suink.com though. I'm a very visual person and I guess the description was just not enough for me. LOL
My biggest beef with the SU caddy is that there is no place for the markers. I'm holding out to see if the one in the new catalog has them. If not, I may have to go elsewhere.
I am enjoying my SU ink pad holder ! It does not spin as mentioned but does turn easily. The thing I really like is the way the pads are held in place securely but easy to remove. I would highly recommend it....even though some people do not seem to like it.....I do.
I just got my Color Caddy. I had previously bought a Port-a-Ink but now that I'm getting the craft pads I wanted another holder and since some of my customers were curious about it, I went for it. At first I thought it was a bit wobbly, but once you put the pads in, it is just fine. I put it on a rubbermaid turntable because I just happened to have one lying around, but it isn't absolutely necessary. The pads do stay in securely even on the turntable; I tried spinning it as fast as I could to see if the pads would come out and they don't.
One thing I like about it more than the Port-a-Ink is that you can carry it with one hand because of the handle on the top. I have to life the PAI with two hands, so it isn't easy to transport. Plus, it wobbles even a little more than the Color Caddy...the top is a solid unit, but it does wobble on the base.
By the way, I love my Color Caddy! I guess it's a matter of opinion.
I just had to check this out and low and behold it is my HUSBAND! What the heck? Now just kidding but I got a huge kick out of that.
As far as storage for my inks that sit in a storage container. Not the best idea to find the color I am looking for but I am still in the process of getting my stamping garage together.
That link was hilarious!
I had to go look at it because I'm curious about everything!
I want to find a caddy that has a spot for reinker and/or markers right next to the pads... anyone seen one? I've seen it somewhere, but can't remember where!
I don't really care for the SU Caddy - (1) doesn't turn well - I often like to give a real spin, (2) doesn't hold my other stamp pads well, ie, VersaMark, Spectrum pads, and I still have a few of the old style SU pads (3) no place to hold re-inkers or markers (4) doesn't feel that sturdy.
I have the Elite - plan to get the topper and order another Elite. Yes, they are a little more expensive and larger that SU Caddy, however, I only travel with the pads I plan to use - could never carry all at once. I have a workspace dedicated for stamping so rarely ever move my storage, except on the rare occasion when I clean.
I love mine and will soon be gettin another one. I'm filling mine up with the classic pads. The other one will be for the craft pads I'm planning to get and all the non-su pads I have. My versamark, stayzon and other pads do fit well in the color caddy (I used a sharpy to write the name on the ends) and the refills store in the tray on top. since I don't have all the refills yet, I have my small punches and stamp cleaners.
I think the real reason they made the SU Caddy not spin so easily is that when you put the ink pad in you have to give it a bit of a push to get it to go in with the way the brackets are made (also keeps the pad in when turning). I have my caddy on a Rubbermaid turntable and when I push the pad it, it spins away...it's very annoying. I may just take it off the turntable!
TO AMANDA: I just read your signature and I just have to say that I am so excited for you. My husband was gone in both the Iraqi war and the Afghani war and it was so hard!
I have one caddy and I use it for my craft inks. It wasn't designed to spin and the majority of demo's would have appreciated it. What it does however do is hold your pad securely so that when you need to take them anywhere even a suitcase they stay put. That is worth the investment in it self. At a demo you can use the top of the caddy not for the refill inks but to show off you M & T's.
That link was hilarious!

www.dzyntech.com has a holder that has room for 12 pads, 12markers, 12 reinkers, and lots of sponges and/or daubers. They have a special right now, 4 for $40, regularly $29.95 each! I haven't tried this one yet though. I have a carrier by Artbin that holds up to 30 pads, with a compartment for reinkers, or EP, or whatever. It's called the Mega Tote(www.artbin.com). I like that it is made of suitcase material and has pockets on the outside for tons of stuff. But I am new to stamping, so who knows.
I bought a stand up (no spinning) caddy from cdjdesigns.com. I didn't want one that spins and can be set out of the way. I bought two, they come with carrying strap and cover to prevent stamps from slipping out when transporting them.

I am looking for a caddy for my su pads. I do not have makers, just need one for ink and refillers, need to hold at least 60, not that I have 60 but moving toward that direction.

I really like my SU Caddy. I bought the extender kit, too, and have all my stamp pads organized. I'm thinking of buying a second one, because I only have room for two more stamp pads.

I have the SU Caddy and extender also. I am not fond of it for many of the reasons others have said doesn't spin very freely, wobbly(even when full), no place for markers, etc. I have one from suink.net on order and can't wait to get it. If you want mine you can have it plus extender for $20 plus S/H. I would have to put it in the box and measure and weigh before I know how much shipping costs. Since I am a stamp stuff collector rather than user, the stand has barely been used other than to hold the stamp pads that I will occassionally take out and put back in. Just pm me if you are interested.
It took me about three years to make up my mind to get it and I really like it. I bought a cheap lazy susan thing at walmart for about $5 and set it on there. No problems with it spinning. I wish I had bought one long before I did.

Do you have a picture of this? I just set mine up and it is REALLY hard to turn! It's not just that it doesn't spin... it barely turns at all! Grr!!! :(
Ok, so I don't know the date of this message so I am checking in to see if you still have the SU caddy for sale or not. I would be very interested. Email me at [email protected] to let me know either way please. Haha, nevermind, I just saw the date.

I don't have one, but a friend of mine does have one, and I really like hers. If limited table space was not an issue with me, I would have at least one - if not two - of these!
But because I have limited table space, I had my dad (wood-crafter extraordinaire!) custom design and make one for me. It holds 60 SU! stamp pads, the top of the shelf will hold the re-inkers, and he ran a small dowel through some hooks on the bottom for my ribbon. It is beautiful and I can't wait to get it and mount it on my wall next to my "work-station!" I don't have it yet - but hope to have it real soon!
I got one plus an extender and after about two weeks I promptly eBayed the dang thing. It really does not spin unless you use 2 hands and I just did not care for the way it assembled... it was not very sturdy.
