Thanks to everyone who is giving us hints...I think I might make a bunch of Christmas stuff this month with the sets I already do have, so I can justify getting something new
If you want to order on July 1 ... there is a way.
;)
Join us in "demo land!" ;)
just sayin' ...
I think I may join in July as well. Just thinking, as I won't do it for business reasons, just my own use. I hope they have a good signup special in July!! Any word on that???

Usually, they don't tell us ahead of time. We didn't know about the June special until June 1.
And really, the current Starter Kit is a pretty good 'special'. It's only $99 and you get to pick what goes in your kit to a max of $125. (US numbers ... other countries differ)
Good for you! It's so smart to wait till July 1st as you'll have a nice long time to make your minimum, too! Unfortunately I didn't do my research and signed up here in June. Bummer for me as I am pretty sure I'll be a hobby demo only and now I have just till the end of Sept. to make mine! Yet, given how awesome the holiday catty is, I won't have ANY problem in this first quarter! I'm more concerned with Oct. - Dec. Yet...maybe by then, given the supplies I'll have, I can get some customer orders! If not, well, I'll have some awesome stuff, so I guess it'll still be a win-win, huh?
Again, best of luck to you!
You're not going to have a problem. Based on the timeline they've given us ... December will be the pre-order for the Occasions catalogue. There's sure to be some awesome stuff in there that you'll need.
There are lots of things that you can do to get started strong. Talk to your upline, or check on the demo threads.
I've been going round and round with this in head too. My demo is a dear friend of mine and I really enjoy working with her.
If I became a demo, there's no way I could purchase enough to keep it. 400$$ a quarter, I'm retired- no can do.
If I tried to sell just a little in order to keep it, then I'd be sucked into the "gotta buy new stuff so I can sell it" cycle and I wouldn't want all that stress. I mean, that's why I retired at 54 ya know?
I'm with you Linda, I have a ton of stamps and I like using lots of different companies.
So join and drop? spend 100 to save 25 nah I don't think so

Oh there is so much more in addition to the Christmas stuff. My demo showed me her copy of the mini and IMHO it is one of the best ever. Let's see how much I can recall: glitter markers (hooray!), a lot of new dies with matching stamps, new embossing folders one of which is a gorgeous deeply embossed oval, braiding, felt...that's all I can recall but there is so much more. I can't wait to get my own mini catty.
Glitter markers? I must've missed those when I took a peek.
Oh yeah, I'd already forgotten about those!
There are so many things ... every time you go through it, there's something new that you notice ... either a new sample, or a new product.
Makes it tempting to re-sign up just reading the descriptions. I understand that the 6month wait if your upline is active has been reduced. Is this true?
I've only seen the new catalog online. I'd have to go in search of a new potential upline...preferably one one the same coast!

Yes, it's been reduced to 90 days.
And this entire site is a result of one upline moving to another coast (thus the name 'splitcoast').
Use the Demo Locator to find somebody near you. You can see what classes they have, all that stuff. If you've been a demo before, you know what to look for.

I hadn't heard from my upline in years.
I tried the demo locator and unfortunately the demos in my area with a DBWS have a stock site with no events, not even any changes to the templates other than the fields that are pre-populated with name and email etc. No response when I submitted the contact me form. :( But I'll keep looking, just may need to expand my search area. Thanks.

By "more than Christmas" do you mean the other fall holidays, or does the new mini have some stamp sets that are more everyday in theme? Of course, the glitter markers and fibers can be used with anything

Definitely other holidays including Halloween, Hannukah, and stamps that are good for any season. There is a nice set of leaf dies and coordinating stamps that could be used year round.
This thread is such a tease!!! I'm not a demo yet (it's in my future life plans though, like maybe a couple of years down the road), but always like getting a sneak peek. I'm sure I speak for at least a couple of non-demos when I say I'm bummed links can't be posted any more to SCS!! :
But it sounds like there are a lot of good things in this one so I will try to be patient!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if this makes any difference to you or not, and I'm not trying to sway you either way, but the quarterly minimun is $300.00, not $400.00. And if you take off your commission, it is $240.00 a quarter. Just sayin'. :p

So that's 80.00 dollars a month... ohhh geeze I would love to...
Plus there's a special this month (June)...During June, new demonstrators not only get to choose the products for their fully customizable Starter Kit, they'll also get products from the brand-new Patio Party Suite for FREE, including the Make a Cake Set, Patio Party Designer Series Paper, and the Patio Party Digital Collection DVD! That's up to $48 in additional FREE products!

where on the East Coast are you located? I'm in Chesapeake, VA...
Someone did PM me the link to the mini, but SCS took it down, and wouldn't let me access it. I think I will see if the lady can email it to me thru my email.

It's a little disturbing that PM's could be read and deleted by the Admins.

I don't think SCS monitors the PM's. Maybe you deleted it by accident?
Kathy, they didn't delete it. A friend posted the link to me in my Pm box. I was able to open the link the first time, I browsed thru it, but a few days later, when I went in to click on the link again, I clicked it, but it said it was not able to access. I presume the mods or someone blocked it.

Maybe whereever it was linked to, made the change? Just a thought...
