Default SU! die cut stamps

Okay, I just got my stamps from the Occasions set, and, man, I think the die cutting is a bit, um, generous? I really would trim so much closer myself!

Since I unmount them, I mostly did trim them all. Has anyone had probs stamping with such wide die-cut trimming?

Just curious,

Anne

Default lazer cut stamps

I agree- I really would rather have the price decreased and just trim them myself - When CTMH had the wood they cut and mounted (and charged a whole lot more) and Stampin up always said we saved money by trimming and mounting ourselves - The rubber is really not expensive - and I love the images but really why do all that and increase the cost?? I use unmounted too but really hate paying double because of the wood and die cut rubber . I really don't think these are good changes.... just costly to us consumers

I prefer mine trimmed closer to the image too! I have only ordered a couple of die cut sets so far, but I have trimmed them closer!

I've only had to trim a couple -- I think the vast majority are cut just right, and stamp perfectly. I haven't had any trouble with stamping an edge or anything.

I was surprised that they had that much around the edge- but i haven't had any problems with stamping the images.
Personally- I hope they start die cutting ALL of the stamps!! I HATE to trim the stamps!

I love the die cut stamps ...so quick to put together ! I have never had any problem with stamping any of the images either. I also find that for my older stampers, they love the fact that they do not have to struggle with cutting them out.

I haven't had trouble with my SAB sets, HOWEVER, I want all or nothing. Done for me with no work on my part and a little more expensive, or I'll just do it all.

Yes, even if I mounted my stamps, I would have to trim the die cuts. They are not *close* cuts and leave to much overhang for error.

Most of mine have been ok. I generally trim my stamps closer than these are, but I'm experimenting with these, lol, just to see if it'll bother me. The one place I do still trim is around curves...they are a little "too" generous there, I think. Still, overall the die cutting massively speeds up the mounting process for me.

Thanks for the opinions!!

I do hate the "waste" when I throw out so much and just keep the rubber tho- so it would be nice to be able to just buy that. Pry why I am buying less and less from SU!.

So far I have trimmed all the ones that I've gotten that have been die cut already. They just arent close enough for me ... I like them close, close, close!

I trim them up some more but I do love the die cuts! I think it's a real bonus for newbies and it makes mounting sooo much faster!

As far as the extra "wasted" rubber, they would throw that away themselves anyway if they just sold the cut out part, right? At least you can keep it and use it for other things. (there are other threads about this somewhere... here's what I did with some of my rubber:Forums at Splitcoaststampers
