I don't see Happiness is a Journey on the retiring list, but it's not in the new catalog. Can someone explain to me what's up with that? Is it on the dormant list? Yes, I do know that I can order it by Sunday, but can I order it after Sunday?

The dormant list was introduced a little more than a year ago to allow SU! to offer sets for sale that may not be quite right for the current season, but that they didn't want to discontinue yet. Sometimes dormant sets retire after another catalog cycle has gone by, and sometimes they're pulled from the list and put back in the main catalog when the time of year is right again. They just did that for the upcoming new catalog with a few sets that were more appropriate for spring or were specifically Valentine's Day sets.

I can't believe that Inspired by Nature and Grand Soiree went on the dormant list. They are both so "original" for SU and seemed to be popular. Hmmm! How do they decide what goes dormant?
Speaking of the dormant list - Have I remembered this correctly that the hostess sets from the fall catty are considered on the dormant list too?....so if I put in a hostess order I could still choose from one of the fall catty hostess sets???

Unfortunately, no, the hostess sets do not go on the dormant list. All of the current hostess sets will be gone at the end of the catalog. The good news? Brand new exciting hostess sets to choose from!

It's probably a combination of factors -- seasonality (the flower in Inspired by Nature is apparently a fall-bloomer), sales, and sometimes just space constraints since adding just a couple of pages can seriously jack up the cost due to the way that professional print shops produce books.

Season of Friendship did NOT make it in, but there are a couple of tree sets. There is always a possibility Season will show up in the Fall/Winter catalog, but if you really want it, you better order! And you have to do it before midnight Sunday!
THere have been sets that went from the dormant list back into the big catalog. And they are still available the whole time they are dormant as well. I don't have high hopes for Season of Friendship from the mini (one of my favorites) to ever come back because there is a similar set (smaller tree) in the new catalog.

i was just hoping it would make it in the next fall/winter catalog. my friend/demo reminded me today that i can always just borrow hers...
i do like 'branch out' but i think that season of friendship would be much more versatile.
