Default SU Demo questions

So I am thinking about signing up. My main concern is the IDA.

I have a blog and use lots of other companies' products. Do I have to stop using them?

Can I still use the products as long as I don't provide links?

Am I allowed to mention the other products I use?

Can my blog have a blinkie for a DT that I am on?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

It is my understanding that you may use other companies things but just not point them out directly. Not sure about the DI blinkie though. I am a new demo so I am still learning. I have found that I was about a 35% SU scrapper before being a demo and now I am about 85% SU demo. I still use some other products but I am finding more and more opportunities to use SU. I am coordinating more. HTHs!!!

You can continue to use products from other companies, and picture them on your blog. You can't have a link to a site where these items can be purchased. Ideally, you will say something vague like "rectangular die," rather than "Spellbinders Nestabilities small rectangle dies."

As for the blinkie for the DT that you're on, I doubt that would be accepted, but I'll leave that for others to respond to. Most of the blinkies I've seen, if you click on them, you'll be transferred to that company's website, and that's what wouldn't be allowed (directing a viewer to where competing products can be purchased). Even if it isn't a link, specifically naming a competing company probably would violate the IDA.

Barbara,
who was a SU hobby demo for 4 years, but isn't any longer.

I am not currently a demo, and when I was I don't think this IDA was in effect. However - here is the Starter Kit order form, and if you scroll down through the pages, it includes the contract.

It says you will not "promote, market, or sell the products" of competitors. To me, if you are on a DT you are promoting and marketing the products of competitors, assuming that you are talking about a company that does stamps or paper or something similar.

Plus like the PP said, the 'blinkie' usually links to a place where ultimately the products are sold.

Keep in mind, in theory if you are selling SU, your goal should be to use products that you can make money on, by inspiring people to make similar projects and buy the supplies from you. I think anything that goes outside of this 'big picture' idea is what SU is trying to limit.
