Quarterly minimums are $300. That's just $100/month!
Hobby Demos mostly just support their habits. They may have a few customers, but they just enjoy getting great products at a discount. Other than that, there's really no difference. We all buy the same starter kit (unless you took advantage of the mini kit during SAB) for the same price & we get the same newsletters, discount, etc.
Suzanne....
Thanks for letting me know that...here in Canada our quarterly is $450.00. Wish is was only the $300 but it's not.
I am not a demo now, but I was one for about 2 years. I let my demoship drop as of Feb 1st, this year. I loved being a demo, but we made some major changes and I just don't have the time to dedicate to it anymore. You'll have loads of fun and meet lots of great people! Congratulations!

Used to be a SU Demo in 2001 and 2002, then switched to CTMH as a demo for a year when they came out with acrylics. Now I am a new TAC demo because I Love the Un-Mounted rubber system.
I'm not, but sometimes I think I might sign up. There are a couple of things holding me back though. One, I would feel I'd need to use SU products exclusively, and I really like to mix and match products. Second, my demo (and friend) has all of my friends that stamp as clients, so I wouldn't have any customers without hard feelings. I brought all of my friends to her, so not sure how that would all pan out. I do a stamp club with her. I wouldn't want to make my quota for her club as well as come up with my own quartely quotas.. Maybe if we could come to some sort of solution I'd give it more thought.
Congratulations on being a new demo!
I'm a CTMH demo, and have a friend who does SU!... so we trade Idea books/catalogs and support each other.
I love this site because we all come from different places... but share a true love for friends and crafts... what a great gathering place SCS is!!
I have been riding the fence for years! I get the urge to become a demo, then talk myself out of it...My biggest fear is that I won't have enough of a client base. I can't afford to be a hobby demo alone - spending $300/quarter just isn't in my budget. But I would LOVE to be a demo if I knew I could build up a faithful group of stampers/buyers!
I had to vote for no, i'm not. But my sister is. I'd like to be, but most of my "would be" customers are hers. So I'll be happy to be one of her customers.

I know exactly what you mean! Right now I have no clients... My mom is going to have my first workshop this weekend. Unfortunately she lives 5 hours away, but we have been meaning to take the trip anyway for her to see her grandson (and us too of coarse). There are 18 people coming to the party! I won't get spin off workshops, but hey it's a good start... So I for sure should make my 1st quarter $300 min. I sent out 500 flyers too. I don't know what got into me. The weather has finally been nice so every day I took my son on a stroller walk and delivered these to mailbox flags. I doubt anyone will respond, other than my neighbor who just told me tonight that she will have a party. So it's a start. I figure if I can't sell enough than I will be done and it was still a good deal! I have no intention of buying that much either.
I am NOT a demo. I came close to signing up and my DH suggested that I not do it. He would rather see me enjoy the stamping rather than have it become work.

Not a demo, though my recently retire demo wanted me to sign up. (She laughed at how I could identify the colors "a mile away!) My job is too intense...but I gotta admit this site is making me think about it!! I definitely need to work on some new techniques. Maybe the hobby demo would be the way to go...
