Default SU Demo kit w/free stamp set...

I thought someone on here mentioned that they picked "Define Your Life" set ($47.95) as their free stamp set when they signed up. I just checked the website and it says:

If you want even more product, select our standard $199 Starter Kit during this promotion and get a stamp set of your choice from the catalog for free--up to a $41.95 value!

Dang it! I wanted to eventually get the "Define Your Life" set and the "Defining Alpha"...Why can't they let us pay the $6 difference! Guess I'll be getting the alpha instead. Does anyone have the alpha set? Did you mount it with both letters side by side, or use the ends of your set?

Could be a mistake -- I just went to the SU! website (demo side) and there's no mention of a $41.95 limit on the info page for that promotion. That's really odd that they'd say that on the customer side and not the demo side. I may have to call Demo Support tomorrow and ask about that, because there has never been a limit like that before on the free set recruiting incentive.

Well, I guess I'll have to check back tomorrow. Do you know if I sign up on the 1st that my mins won't be due until march? I've heard rumors that if you sign up in the first few days of a quarter, you only get 3 months instead of 6 for your first mins.

If you sign up in the early part of the quarter, you still get a full quarter to make your minimums. So, yes, if you sign up in early October, your mins won't be due til 3/31. If you sign up on/before 9/30, your minimums will be due 12/31.

It's actually the other way around. Your first official day as a demo is the day that SU! assigns your demonstrator number. This normally takes a couple of days to process, so even if you sign up through your new upline's business website on Wednesday it'll still take a little time to be entered into the system.

Actually, SU! usually gets you in the system the day they receive your snail mail application or the day it's submitted online (unless it's a holiday or weekend or at the very end of the business day). They are really quick about this.
The other advantage of signing at the beginning of the month is that you have those extra days to make your Stampin' Start (a way to get free stamps based on sales/recruiting in your first full 3 and 6 months). Since the month you sign up in doesn't count as the first full month, you have those extra days.

Kind of off topic, but I rarely use Define Your Life. LOL

I heard back from my soon to be Upline and she said on the demo side it says any stamp set of your choice. She suggested picking out the most expensive of my favorites (which is probably DYL). I wouldn't buy it cause of the price, but free is FREE. The others I like I can live with the price so I'll buy then slowly.

Can someone explain the whole earning more free stamps in the first 3-6 month thing? Are those Hostess stamps or ANY stamps in the catty?

Regular merchandise stamp sets only. If you don't preorder (demo-only privilege) before the catalog begins, then the only way to get hostess sets is to submit a qualifying demonstrator order or a workshop order (used whenever someone besides you is ordering) where you are the hostess.

Bingaling, if you are referring to my post, I'm talking about Stampin' Start. Your new UL should be able to give you all the details, but here's the basics. Sell $1800 (your orders count too) in the first 3 full months, you get 2 free stamp sets. Sell an additional $3000 in the next 3 full months, you get 4 more free stamp sets. You get a free stamp set for each recruit (up to 3) that you sign in the first 6 months. HTH.

Yep, that was me. I signed up Aug. 11th. Strange because there's no mention on the demo side or ont he back of the catty sampler mentioning aa max amount for the free set. Gonna have to check into that one.

It really does say that!!! What's up with that? There's nothing on the demo side stating a max amount. Anyone sign up recently that experienced a cap on the stamp set amount?

I had someone sign up under me last week (online), and the auto-fill for the free stamp set was Define Your Life. She had no problems signing up. So, it seems like there is a mistake on the customer side of stampinup.com.

I'm shocked!

Sorry, I couldn't stop myself from saying that and sorry for the hijack.

Anyway, I do want to say that the info about getting your demo ID right away when signing up online is totally accurate! However, I made call to Stampin' Up! last night and was told that would NOT be the case so I was pretty surprised to receive my new recruit's ID # immediately. (It's been a while since the last one.) I will be letting SU! know that bad info was given to me as I think they need to get this corrected with DS.

There is even time today yet to qualify for the preorder items from the Holiday Mini if you have anyone on the fence. I am going to make a "last pitch" to one of my very best customers. I'm guessing she will go for it and I will be SO sorry to lose her but happy to have her on my all-of-a-sudden growing team!
