Oh no, NOT my Baja Breeze! I like it so much better than Soft sky. I still have some soft sky I never used after it retired. So happy about Pool Party and Calypso Coral, as I love them together!
A shout out to Pear Pizzazz, B. Bay and Blushing Bride-Hooray!

In terms of the discontinuing colours, I'm fine with most of them.
I'll need reinkers for Regal Rose, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgandy, NQNavy, and More Mustard, because I have the inks.
I might get more cs for R Rose, Baja Breeze, RHRed, because they are the 3 retiring that I love. At first I was sad re: Certainly Celery, but really, I like Pear Pizzazz better and I have it.
I actually think Crushed Curry is a nicer colour than More Mustard.
Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette have always looked exactly the same to me.
Soft Sky and Pool Party are great for baby boy cards and a great upgrade/sub for Bashful Blue.
I see the point re: Cherry Cobbler can work as a burgundy, but I'd still love a true burgundy for Christmas cards. I love Burgundy and Artichoke.
I don't like NQ Navy or River Rock, so I don't care about them.
I'm only getting the reinkers because I have the pads in the new format already and after buying them I refuse to get rid of them now. I like to do colour challenges - I save them all - and I know there are challenges that will use the retired colours. I know I could sub the newer version, but since I've got the pads, I'll use them. And more reinkers will allow me to try some cool background techniques I've wanted to try.
I actually found a huge stash of Bermuda Bay cs The only ones I don't have cs for are Soft Sky and Crushed Curry. I have ink pads for most of them too, but not all.

I always loved Certainly Celery, then Pear came out and I Loved that. When Pear retired I was sad until I compared the two, and they are REALLY close IMHO.

All I'm getting in retiring colors is one of each cs pack of Pretty in Pink and More Mustard. And since I just got the newer Pretty in Pink inkpad I'm getting another reinker for it too. I have almost a full cs pack of everything else that's retiring that I liked. I'm pretty happy with my inks too, I'm still using Summer Sun as my only yellow inkpad and I've hung on to my Going Grey inkpad and got a few sheets of the cs at my demo's sale last summer.
Maybe Crushed Curry will look better this time around mixed in with the newer color palette. I could never figure out how to use it so I didn't like it very much.
I will miss most of the colors!! I know they need to keep their colors fresh and new, but come on, BAJA BREEZE!!! I LOVE that color. I have the old ink pad, the new ink pad and a refill. I have almost one full pack of CS, do I need more?? Maybe I can trade for it? I have a bunch of bashful blue I never ended up using....
Does anyone have an answer to this question? They do not list Rose Red as a retired color in the subtles....oh never mind. I see they still have it but they shifted it from subtles to regals....answered my own question for a change! LOL

It's always really hard to know how many packs of a retiring color to get. I, like many tend not to use the retired colors much. I way underestimated B. Bride and ended up with only a partial pack. Now I can get more.
I never got into B. Bay until after it retired. I got a few pieces of cs at one sale and the ink pad at another demo's sale. I just realized I had that ink pad the other day and wondered why I really needed it. Now I can buy a whole pack of paper to go with it!
I guess 3 pkg. of Baja will be enough.....sigh ;(

It is hard to know how much of a retiring color to get. I agree. I tend to move on to the current colors even though I'm no longer a SU! demonstrator. It's habit to stay current. There are just a few retired colors that I still go to (and they are not coming back).

I am sad for more than just the colors I'll miss - I have 56 SU ink pads and 40 of them are now retired. Sad, so sad.
I will miss Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and more than any of them, Not Quite Navy. But I am looking forward to Soft Sky, Crushed Curry and I can't wait to see the new Smoky Slate (is it as light as Going Gray? It is my most missed color of cardstock!).
Would anyone please be able to do a photo colour comparison between soft sky and Baja breeze? I'm trying to decide if it's worth stocking up on Baja breeze CS or just switch on over to Soft Sky.

This video shows the refreshed colors. I hope this helps.
I really love crushed curry. I got 10 packages when it retired. I will get three packs of celery. Pretty in pink, and Baja. looking forward to some new colors.
thanks for the link to the video. wonderful job. the colors look great. SU paper is one of my faves because it has a beautiful finish and can be die cut, punched, etc. with ease.

Agree with Minders that you better do it fast. This weekend will be a great time to stock up since SU is offering free shipping and no minimum order amount, so you can get by just ordering a few packages
Oh NO! Missed the free shipping announcement! I just placed my order. Oh well
I will really miss baja breeze and my beloved not quite navy (which go so well together)
Thrilled to see blushing bride return!
While I am not in love with bravo burgundy, it works for our local High School (as does more mustard). I LOVE cherry cobbler, but is NOT a burgundy, and I am bummed we won't have one now
I almost placed an order Monday (I do one once a quarter now)...with the intention of replacing a few ink pads. I like the new style. This color announcement changed my order a lot
Cha-ching

It's funny, since the last color renovation two years ago, (or is it three?) I've had this big stack of retired colors I'm trying to use up. I've whittled it down quite abit, and just the other day I was patting myself on the back because I'd used up my last sheet of Soft Sky! And now it's back!
To be honest, I'm not too upset to see any of these go, I think they're replacing them with colors that are better. Except for the Mustard/Curry thing. While I'm not much of a golden yellow fan, I can handle Mustard. But Curry was one of my least liked colors that SU has ever come up with. And I will miss Bashful Blue. But I'm well stocked on the retired colors I like, and the only incoming colors I don't have are Soft Sky and Blushing Bride. Oh, and Crushed Curry, but I don't know if I'll be rushing out to get that one. So it looks like I'm set for this change.
The only thing that bothers me is that I've now got a HUGE stack of retired colors again!
Agreed... second only to summer starfruit. Blech
I ordered some ore mustard...it's great for autumn cards. Plus it goes well with some dp that is stashed in my space!

wouldn't you know it, I JUST got a delivery with a More Mustard RF from Mr. Brown. What was I thinking? I noticed it was one of the only colors that I didn't have a RF for when I re-did my inkpad holder/organization in March and tossed it onto an order I had going in before SAB ended. Oh well, my UL is in mourning over More Mustard...maybe I will make her a bereavement package with the RF and any c/s I have remaining? lol! I liked it for fall colors as an underneath layer but yellows of any shade are not high of my list of favs so I will survive without it no problem. Curry will be ok (it's a lot brighter than MM) and I am ok with Daaaaaf-o-dil Delight but only because I can sing it to the tune of Afternoon Delight which is all the fault of someone here on the demo forums who suggested it over a year ago...maybe it was Lydia? Can't recall now but sure can't get that outta my brain either!
Now, who among us is trying to figure out if Smoky Slate is going to match up with Going Gray? And, not that I am complaining because who doesn't love Chocolate Chip, but HOW did CC survive the cut when it's so close to Early Espresso? I can tell the difference now just eyeballing it but when EE first came out I had to go thru my drawer and pull out one of each to be certain which color I was using.
Thanks sc magnolia for the chart comparison, very helpful. In the video I really couldn't get a good look, the color seemed washed out to me. The chart is perfect
The SU video with Carrie Cudney showing the new colors is great. I love the way she shows the new color families and the similar cards she made with each. I think the color combos are fab. Now I'm trying to decide exactly which colors she used for the flowers on each card. For the Brights, I'm thinking Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, but what's the last color: Tempting Turquoise or Bermuda Bay?
On the Subtles: Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride OR Pink Pirouette???, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Soft Sky OR Pool Party ???
The Regals card is easy, I think: Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Island Indigo.
Has SU posted this info? If you've watched the video, please share your opinions on the three colors I've questioned above.
Oh, and is the base card Crumb Cake or Sahara Sand?
Thanks!

I actually think chocolate chip and early espresso are very different. And ever since EE came out, I barely reach for CC. I would be fine if it was gone...but I guess it is a good "basic" color
I have never had soft sky (didn't buy in-colors back then)...but in that video, it looks soooooooooooo close to pool party.
Grieving baja breeze once again :(

You are welcome Right after I put it up, a friend noticed that reversed Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette  I had to go back in and fix it <blonde moment>
I'm going to miss Baja Breeze a lot. I just love it with Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip. .... well I love it with lots of things! I can handle change, fashion and home decor colors change all the time too, so C'est la vie.
jeez ... I haven't stamped in over a year but these colour revamps make me want to buy extras of the refills for the ink colours that are retiring!
Not me. I'm putting those colors of ink pads away, or maybe I'll give them to someone. I'm not a hoarder at all. I will use the card stock at church for our card ministry, so everything retired will go away to make room for new things :-D But that's just me. I am a bit OCD on organization, which you can not do if you are a hoarder.

Pool Party has a much more green tone than Soft Sky. If you stamped off Baja Breeze a couple of times you would have something like Soft Sky. It looks really good with Chocolate Chip which I also rarely go to since EE came out. I really love Baja Breeze and wish it weren't going away. I also don't understand getting rid of More Mustard-it was a go to color during Fall and Curry is MUCH brighter IMO. I also loved River Rock and mourned when it went away last time. I love it paired with Always Artichoke, but don't use it much into other combos.
