That and the stampin' scrub. I finally bought one of those and am so glad I no longer am dealing with babywipes and paper towels. Oy!

I love clear mount but the other day I had difficulty positioning the clear mount 2 step stamp from stippled blossoms. After I stamped on the plastic for the stampamajig I cleaned the stamp because I was using a lighter ink on paper. The lighter ink wouldn't really show up on the plastic. When I tried to clean the stamp it kept moving . It was also harder to position with the stampamajig. I think wood may be better for 2 step and sentiments where you would use a positioning system. I love cm for some of the same reasons as minders did.

You mean it moved around on the block? Yeah, with a smaller stamp that sometimes does happen. Or a long thin stamp. Some of my clings flip off when I clean them on the scrubber. Then, you have to put them back on and restamp the plastic on the positioner. Annoying.

My favorite annoyance is when I'm using a stamp with no "top or "bottom" and after I stamp on the plastic, I forget which side of the block is supposed to be up and have to start again.

I actually stamp most of my images on my stamp a ma jig in Memento black, no matter what color ink I'm actually using. It makes a crisp image and is easier for me to line up. But then my eyesight far from great.

Clingmount all the way, since before SU. I never mounted my SU on the wood it used to come with, and am very happy I don't have to deal with (and pay for) the wood now.

.
LOL! I did that yesterday with Roses in Winter. That is the hardest set to try to line up. I ended up giving up on it! It never looked good to me!

I'm a wood mount gal except I do own a few SU cling mount ones. I tend to,use my,hostess dollars on the cling mount so I get more free stuff. I haven't bought any of the 2 step ones in cling yet but after reading this thread I think I will avoid those. I like wood for the fact that I can just grab it and stamp, no,changing the block, no looking for the right block, etc. I don't have that many stamps though. If I had a ton I might change my mind but I really like the wood mount stamps.

I like wood blocks. I like clear blocks. I like rubber cling stamps. But I HATE clear stamps!

I have tried clear stamps from a variety of vendors - and I can't think of a single time that I have been able to get a good, crisp image. I've tried all kinds of ink pads, light touch, heavy touch, touch and let sit, touch and remove immediately, upside down, right side up...you name it.

The polymer used for clear stamps is cheap and degrades more quickly than good old-fashioned rubber no matter what kind of special cleaner you use on them. While stains on my rubber don't really bother me, some of my more OCD friends hate that polymer will stain permanently after the first use and discolor after time whether it's in or out of direct sunlight.

My collection of wood stamps is down to a small handful, but I have 15 or so CD cases filled with sets. The storage is much better that way! I am not one to break up sets, because I have found they have better re-sell value as the original set than they do as individual stamps. And yes, I do sell sets that I haven't used in years or that I bought on impulse and don't really want to keep for the rest of my life.

For me it depends on the brand of clear stamps. I have inchies from Inkadinkadoo and I don't like them. They don't give me the clear details I want and won't come clean. I just bought an SU cling set and I love it. I have hundreds of wood stamps. While I like them, they take up too much space. I will continue to buy clear and cling stamps.

Cling-mounted rubber is my first choice, then wood-mounted rubber. I have to reeeeeeeally love the image to buy a clear stamp. They're softer and I'm prone to pressing too hard and getting a blurred image. And to give myself some slack, I know that sometimes it's truly not my fault the image isn't crisp. I think rubber just gives a crisper image than clear.
