yes. the thread, which I have not read, can't possibly represent all view points, good, bad or indifferent.

Even if I didn't like one product, the catalog itself is a STEAL. It's 10$!!! For that you get professionally done layouts -- dozens and dozens. And color combos. And wonderful ideas on how to use embellishments.

And then there are the products themselves. That is up to the individual. I could spend hundreds!!! So, I vote yes, buy it.

My vote is also to buy it. It's worth it.

I think that thread is really for fun. There are lots of lovely sets in the catalog, I think it is my personal favorite yet.

Even the ones we are making fun of will be used on awesome cards by awesome stampers. I'll probably buy a bunch of them.

I wouldn't let that thread get you down.

Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I've looked at the new catty on line but to have it in my hands will be nice. Doubt I'll order anything tomorrow night but great to have to look for ideas.

I never let either the things that make you go Hmmmmm.... or the How cool is that...
thread influence me. There are always things in the catty that fall in both categories though the "what goes where" differs person to person, LOL.

If you have ever liked a SU catty get one. I'm sure your demo will let you look through it first but I usually find I use mine more later in the year or even after it has expired! LOL

Yes absolutely! If you think about what you'd spend on one or two paper crafting magazines, ten bucks is nothing, and you get hundreds of projects in the catalog.
Or even better, get it free when you host a workshop! ;)

Seriously, even if you don't like some of the stamps you can always use those projects for inspiration of colors, layout, etc.

Someone pointed out that the giraffe in Animal Stories looks like it might be pooping.

Oh my, I started that thread and I couldn't wait to get my catalog!! And I just placed the biggest order I've placed in the last two years!! Absolutely, yes, get the catalog!!

That thread is sort of a tradition. I've seen it the last few times, on the demo side or here, and this time I just started it myself because I remembered how funny it can be.

Really, it is all meant in good fun and many of us will still purchase the much-maligned sets... including the, ahem, "pooping" giraffe.

Also mentioned in that thread in the past are some of the samples. Yes they are absolutely gorgeous!! But some are over-the-top. It's the difference between what the average person would do, and what we'd do if we were being paid for it LOL!

I often imagine what the design and approval process is at SU and I wonder if some of these comments are tossed off there as well ~ it's not bad, it's just silly .

The catalog is fabulous and as others have mentioned it is well worth having for the Idea aspect of it. I hope you get one and enjoy it immensely. There are some wonderful sets and accessories!

I totally enjoyed the hmmmm thread, and I am totally enjoying my catty, too. It's a great one, IMHO, but there are certainly things that will make people go hmmm. That's really to be expected in any diverse catty like this. What some people love, others find ridiculous or funny or pointless or sappy or stupid. I have found lots to love, and some stuff to scratch my head over. It's a blast!

I've browsed the online catty and while there is not much that I'm drawn to I can't wait to get the real catty in my hands! I have a basket with all the past cattys that I continuously go through for inspiration and color combos : )

Just received my catalog in the mail today and I am LOVING it. Yep, I am shouting. I've read where others don't like the feel but I love the cover and how it feels---soft and buttery and beautiful. I love the in colors and so many of the stamps. There are great new ones for teens and so many that I just must have. When I place my order I will qualify for several hostess sets just on my own. So, yes, I will enable you. Buy it! The thread with the hmmm---I glanced through it and I love most of what I read about that made people go hmmm. We all have different tastes and my tastes love this new catalog. :p

I've enjoyed the hmmmmmm thread and I've had my catty for two weeks. Lots of GOOD stuff in there and it's fun with the hmmmmm thread just to see what someone thinks is a hmmm set, I may LOVE. IT's just interesting and fun. Just added a little "spark" to my day each time I read a new post! It's good natured fun...sort of a "roast" to the new catty!

I think the new catalog is beautiful and very well done. At first I didn't see a TON of things that I wanted but I think that's more due to the fact that I have so much already now.

But the more I look at it, the longer my list grows. LOL~ I haven't ordered yet as I had to do back to school clothes shopping and totally shot my budget  Come next Tuesday, I'll be placing my first order and then stalking the UPS man to get it.

Yes, you should get the catalog. At least so you can form your own opinion about what is in it. And if you want my opinion.....I can't stop looking at it!

I give all my customers a catalog, but it is well worth $10. There are hundreds of project ideas.( cards, scrapbook, tags, 3-D, home decorating) What magazine has hundreds of ideas? Every time I look it inspires me to get creative.

I have only been buying SU for about 1.5 years now so I guess I am considered a newby. But this catalog looks to be the best to me. The cover alone made me want to grab it!!! And as mentioned before the ideas are totally inspirational!! BUY IT.
