I have just become a snowbird...Does anybody store their stamping stuff in the garage during the winter? I have brought down all my "Spellbinder" style dies.
They are stored on Magnetic sheets on cardboard in page protectors in a Plastic file box. Paper in 12x12 plastic Iris scrapbook storage boxes.
Unmounted stamps stored on Laminated cardstock in a plactic storage box.
Paper cutter Misti, stamp pads and UM SU Sets in a Cropper hopper. I will keep my Scan N Cut in my home...If my stuff isn't safe in the garage I will have to put it in a closet upstairs which will make it less convenient ( dragging stuff up and down) Everything I plan to keep out there will be in Plastic storage containers.
I will also post this in the Organizing Forum......
Also Looking for a Stamp Store or stamping group... SU Stampers 10 or Demo that holds classes ETC in the Windermere/ WinterGarden Area...
Thanks!
Bev

Hi, Bev ~ I'm a little unsure of what you mean by "safe." I live in Central Florida (Seminole County) and I store some of my things (wood mounted stamps and cutting tools) in my laundry room, which is actually a partitioned "room" at the front part of my garage, next to the kitchen. Before I had a designated craft room, I stored everything in there. I must admit that I outgrew it. I'm afraid I can't help you at all with stores near Windermere/Winter Garden. And the few stores we had near me closed some time ago. So now all I have locally are Michaels, Joann, and Hobby Lobby.
I'm a Central Florida native, and I do not and would not store any ink pads, paper, or stamps in my garage. We've been having unseasonably warm winter weather, but the temperatures in a garage here (depending on how it is insulated) can fluctuate greatly within the span of just a few days.
The answer to your question depends on a few factors. I'm in Orlando and my garage is on the north side of the house and is fully insulated (including the door). The only time it gets "hot" (above 90 degrees) is when I park my car in there after it has been sitting in the hot sun all day. You want to put a thermostat in your garage and monitor your temperatures. Each garage is different and how many times you open the door, location, insulation, etc will also affect temperatures.
Thanks for all your replies!! It seems that it is best to store my stuff inside. I appreciate everyone's responses. I have invested quite a bit of money in this hobby (haven't we all) and don't want to risk ruining any of it.
So I will get some excercise when I stamp...Not a bad thing really!!!!
