Default Standard US Card Size

HI I'm in the UK and am taking part in a swap on SU. I have made one of my swaps but now I am worried I have got the standard card size demensions around the wrong way. Can any one confirm correct size of finished card, Height measurement and width measurement. Thanks alot. Sarah:confused:

The basic size is half a sheet of cardstock, then folded in half. Finished card size would be 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

You can cut your cardstock two ways:

1. At 5 1/2", so your cardstock (before folding) is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", or

2. At 4 1/4", so your cardstock (before folding) is 4 1/4" x 11".

Hope that makes sense.

Just so you know - Sarah-Jane wasn't being odd, her basic problem is that cardstock sizes are not the same in the UK as they are in the US. An A4 sheet here is the equivalent of your letter size sheet but the dimensions are slightly different so our standard (a C6 card) is also half a sheet of A4 folded in half but it's not quite the same finished size as your A2. It's one of the reasons UK people sometimes get frustrated with the Cuttlebug folders - they don't quite cover a whole card front for us!

Sarah-Jane, when I've swapped with US people I've just done standard C6 but included envelopes to be sure there won't be a problem. Maybe just check with the swap hostess to see what's expected.
