OH!! I just realized - any of those Stampotique images would work great with that sentiment from Stamping Bella that says "Dare to be different" - then you can send it to anyone for inspiration.
No, Daniel Torrente drew them. But I can see the resemblance. I was wistfully scribbling at work, doodles inspired by the Daniel Torrente stamps that I want soooo much, and a couple co-workers saw and said, hey, that reminds me of "Nightmare Before Christmas".
Sophie, most of the cards that I make are for me : ) I don't give my cards out to family members unless it's my immediate family, because they won't appreciate them. It's very sad but I buy store-purchased cards for them.
I have no issues in buying something that I'd like because it would be mostly for me (sorry, I know this sounds selfish and self-centered). Buy yourself a stamp or 2 and make something for you! You'll feel a lot better
Hi Su! Those Ozzy images are cute too! LOL at the x's for the eyes.
I know the Daniel Torrente stamps would be neat for SOME teenagers, but the teens (all two of them) in my life are um.... wholesome and not into the goth scene. <SIGH>
I'm pretty certain that all the younger-than-teen children (my niece and nephew, my friend's granddaughter, my other friend's daughter, and two cousins) I know will ALSO grow up to be teens who are too wholesome for these images!!! Also, I also know their parents, and think the parents would disapprove were I to send their kids something (cards or journals) with such images. <sigh>
They would be perfect if I had a family like the Addams Family!! But I'm still going to get some. My heart is set on it.
Hey Sophie!
You should just go for it girl. Those stamps are waaaaay cool. Now I've got a hankering for them too and I'm trying to keep from wanting them as well. Same reason... not sure who I would give them to as cards. But it would be fun to have them and make collages and things like that out of them. And you could always make Halloween cards with them.
This would never happen to me with images. I could do SOMETHING with anything. It happens to me with sentiment sets. There will be a whole bunch of things that I would NEVER say to anyone, and one that I want. ugh.

doubt their parents are sighing!
I would love anything you inked and adhered to paper, but you know that already

You could cut up the other sentiments into individual words maybe...
These are images which evoke and stir something in me; I respond to them! I love their creepiness, their black-ringed eyes, the very style in which they are drawn (like the artist drew them while sitting hunched over in a dark, dank dungeon)... <happy sigh>.
But alas, I know if I bought them, I would not use them frequently enough. I can't think of a single card recipient (of the people to whom I normally give cards) who would like these instead of looking askance at them.
But my mind is saying "who cares? Just buy one - just one...."
I'm going to call you an enabler! After reading this thread I checked out the stamps you're talking about, I quite like them! I also liked Amy W??? stamps on that same site.
Now I have over $300 in my wishlist, but I really want about $140 worth right now.
...Thanks, that's why I keep checking back here for great ideas, whether it card ideas or new stores to buy from.

I actually have Femme Collage and Timeless by Amy Wilson Wellenstein!! Also, her first images (the fishy ones) remind me of James Christensen's (an artist whose work I love) art.
Loved some of the Goth stamps - couldn't think of what to use them for/to
but then saw how adding {dare to be different} puts a new spin on the stamp - think I may be doing some shopping -- LOL

Well, those Stampotique Stamps are the ones that I want but wouldn't know how to use. Or, I wouldn't know who to send them to, I guess. But I have seen them and love them. I don't know what it is about them...they make me laugh. Not 'haha, oh how funny', but more like, 'wow, that's different!' I guess you don't really need a specific purpose, tho, right? Maybe, just because. I think I'll have to get some now.

Loved your cards!
Now I want even more stamps, you definitely gave me some ideas.
The Relaxin' stamp could be used for anyone telling them to take a break or they'll look like her. Or the crazy hair could be someone stressed out from work.
Even if the stamps are colored in pastels they could be looked at in a whole different manner.
I also liked Janet Klein's, loved the flowers and pixies.
Now I just hope my income tax money comes soon, so much I want/(NEED)!
If it's a one time use kind of stamp, maybe you could join the RAK image group here and request some stamped image of them. Or post a message in the BST forum that you are ISO of those images.
That way you get to try them and if you really love them then go ahead with the purchase. I have found that swapping images helped me get the "got to have it bug" out of my system and stopped me from making impulse purchases that I later regretted.
Well, I showed my husband the Daniel Torrente stamps and he loves them!!! So I can use them to make cards and stuff for him!!! Hurray! I'm still going to wait a while before buying them though. Need to regulate the finances first, and complete some unpleasant task.
Yay - sounds like a winner all round Sophie! You get to buy the stamps, make something for someone you love and then enjoy it yourself too as it will be on display in your home. Score!
All the stamps I have seen in this thread are awesome! I would certainly pick up a few just because they would make me happy. I agree that you may not find them as easy to use as some of the more "popular" stamps, but there have been tons of suggestions here so far and I am sure there are tons more!
Hmmm, while I do love them, I don't think so. :( I know, I know - I *should* - but part of my problem is how much they cost. $8.95 for a single, unmounted stamp? I thought UM's were cheaper than regular stamps (at least they are in my neck 'o the woods) especially when they come completely naked!
I could justify it to myself if they were either cheaper or more mainstream. But for them to be expensive AND 'out there'? Nah.... just can't do it.
Well, not yet!

I love the "Kitty" stamp. I don't know anyone who would appreciate this kind of humor. I guess we'll all just have to send each other the cards we make with these "off" type stamps. ;)
I can see sending this to someone with a "Thinking of you" sentiment of "Having a rough day?"

I like that, very good sentiment. Now I'll have to really think about getting this stamp. Today is my birthday, maybe I'll get it and call it my birthday present to me. ;)
Wow- I just saw those stamps by Daniel torrente and love them! I have a few friends and maybe a nephew who would love to get a card made with those images! Just might have to buy one or 2 stamps!
