Stampin'Up order- INK ALL OVER!!

I was really excited to get my Stampin' Up order today!!!
That is, until I saw ink on the outside bottom of the box! :(
I opened it up, and there was ink everywhere!!
One of the 6 bottles of ink refills had a hole in it!!

I would really like to know why they don't put the ink bottles in a plastic bag just for safety measures!!

I thought I would see if it was just on the packaging, but the more I touched things, the more ink covered my hand and arms became!!!

So needless to say, everything but a small wheel, 1 spool of ribbon and 2 ink pads came out unscathed. Out of 32 items, only 4 were ok!!

So I called SU and they are going to have the entire order picked up and a new one sent out.

I wish I would have thought of using rubber gloves BEFORE I opened the box. I did put them on to put everything back and tape it up however!!!

Has this happened to anyone else????

Am I the only one thinking that replacing the order is the LEAST they could do? If it were packed correctly in the first place this shouldn't have happened.

I hadn't thought about it, but I believe that in the past the reinkers did come in a plastic bag. However, mine weren't this time either. I haven't had this problem, but I bet others have. So sorry you have such a mess!

I am so sorry that this had to happen to you. What was SU thinking. Everything that I order that comes in a bottle also comes in a seperate plastic bag, even from JoAnn's. Come on, sheesh, they should have used thier brains. I would really be stinkin mad. First that my order got messed up, then that I got ink all over myself, and now that I have to wait for another order to arrive! I feel your pain, I really do. Know that we are here for you to vent, and to help you feel better about an awful situation. I hope they ship the other package super fast priority to you. May you have better days ahead of you.

To answer your question,YES, this has happened to me...and, NOT JUST ONCE!!! I believe that the packaging depends upon manufacturer, not the "packing" process at SU!....However, there is no excuse for this....

I had this happen with a bottle of alcohol ink from JoAnn's once - there wasn't a hole in the bottle, but the lid wasn't on tight (so not JoAnn's fault, it had to have been a problem from Ranger). Luckily, it was part of a 3-pack that was sealed in a blister card and the blister card was in a plastic bag besides, so it was only that 3-pack that was messy. Called customer service about it, and the rep was GREAT - her main concern was that nothing else was damaged, and she had a replacement on its way, next day air, in about 5 minutes flat.

No, never with ink, but it did happen with brown glitter. It was one of those fine glitters that comes in a bag and it exploded, ripped the bag open and I had glitter on everything. Luckily for me, I opened it at another demo's house ;)

Oh man, that is sooooo stinky! :( Maybe you need to mention to SU that it also stained your silk blouse, white rug, and that pile of $100 bills you had next to the box. ;) Hope they are sending your new order quickly AND with a plastic bag!

Oh your poor thing -- I can imagine your surprise and disappointment. I have had orders crushed before (and left outside, in the heat & sun where it clearly says on the SU box not to to that, lol) but not to the extent of what you've described. Glad to hear that SU is replacing your order!

I've ordered the reinkers for every color they have & they have never been in a plastic bag. Just loose rolling around in the box. Never had a problem, just been lucky I guess. Hope they ship priority for you!!

I have had reinkers IN little baggies and NOT in little baggies in the SAME order before! Thought that was weird...my last batch, none of them were in baggies. I think that's just asking for an accident!

I have had it happen once, a long time ago. Going Gray, I think....yuck! what a mess, lol! What was really, really weird was that there were several reinkers in the order, and while some of them came individually bagged, some didn't...naturally, the Going Gray was one that wasn't in a bag, so it got everywhere. This is one thing that's always been strange...sometimes they bag, sometimes they don't...no rhyme or reason to it. I also had a jar of embossing powder come open, but obviously that wasn't nearly as messy...

I think they told me when I called that some of their suppliers send them already separately bagged and some don't. I still don't see why they can't just bag or make sure everything is bagged as it gets in the box.

Still, one thing I'm absolutely NOT surprised at is that SU immediately replaced your entire order...they're very good about that kind of thing. Hope you don't have to wait long!

Everytime I have purchased a reinker it has come in it's own sealed plastic bag. I'm surprised they discontinued this practice. Too bad about your order but good to know that SU will replace everything.

I haven't had anything like that happen but I did get a box that looked like it was dragged behind the UPS truck. Lots of stuff damaged and lost....definately not SU's fault but they replaced everything!! Glad they did the same with you!

I had this happen with an order from Scrapbooking Warehouse. There was brown ink everywhere! The cap had come unscrewed.

They did replace everything and "let" me keep all the inky merchandise...which went to my kids. LOL

I did recommend they start bagging the ink refills...and they must have implemented it promptly as my next order was shrinkwrapped!

This happened to me earlier this month with my SU! demo preview order. I opened the box, and found that my Melon Mambo reinker wasn't sealed tight, and it got all over a whack of paper packs in the box. Of everything in there, it only got into the corner of 5 packs of Kiwi Kiss paper. But... I was freaking because I need it to make my husband's company Christmas cards this year. 2000 of them. And, although I ordered a bit of extra paper (90 packs of Kiwi Kiss), it would be difficult to make them all if some of the paper was damaged.

Fortunately they were able to get the replacement paper out before they ran out of the paper.

In my experience, SU! has been EXTREMELY good about replacing defective, or damaged goods.
