I'm looking for something to hold all of my stamp pads, but I'm hesitant to buy Stampin' Ups caddy. For one, it seems a little pricey. Two, I haven't heard very nice things about it.
I think it is made of cardboard. For $5 less you can have one made of wood. Check out the 100 cassette holder made of wood at kingdom.com. I love mine and am ordering a second one.
I looked at this, but for the price, I wouldn't want a cardboard item. I think it looks cheap. (sorry)
For less money, I would get the fellowes cassette holder.... for VERY similar in price, I would get something made by craftsolutions on ebay, who makes HIGH quality stuff for a low price. Her stuff is awesome!
I agree that it looks cheap. That's why I came to you ladies first!!
I'm checking out both of the options you suggested. The only thing I don't like about the cassette holder is that I can't make some of the storage areas larger (for embossing powders and such).

Craftsolutions has nothing for sale on ebay. :(

they put stuff up and down on sale.... like they list a TON and then don't list for awhile, look at their old stuff though, that's what they sell, it is SO well made!!
Scarlett, the kingdom one has removable shelves (tricky but it can be done with patience). I removed a couple of shelves to hold my thicker pads. My demo has removed every other shelf and hers holds all her EP's and reinkers.

Ooooooh. That makes it very attractive, then.
I'm looking at them right now trying to figure out how you would remove the shelves.

Yep, that is the one. I removed shelves myself and it was tricky with only 2 hands. You have to partially lift the vertical dividers and then slip out horizontal shelves. When I do it again, I will have a friend or hubby on hand to help me do it. It took me about 15 minutes to manage it on my own. Our entire 10 club bought them and we all agreed the process was tricky but very worth it. Many of us now have 2-3 of them.

Thank you! This is absolutely what I have been looking for....and you can't beat the price with a stick! Even though it is possible (with difficulty....I understand) to pull out shelves, is it pretty sturdy? Thanks

I am very pleased with the quality. People comment on how nice it looks and I love that it fits tight to the wall and takes up barely 3 inches along the wall of table space. It could also be painted but the pine is so very smooth and pretty that I am leaving mine alone. Has a nice light golden patina. My sis bought one and mounted it on the wall of her son's bedroom and they removed every other shelf. He has his collector's Hot Wheels displayed there. My friend also stores her small punches in one.
Do you have a picture of yours? I want to order one but I am afraid the stamp pads will hang over the edge too far. I remember you said they hung over in another post. It does look very nice.
The old pads fit almost flush with just about 1/4" sticking out to grab. The new ones hang over more but it is totally unnoticable when they are in there. It looks made for them. Additionally the new ones will not fall out. The shelves are just snug enough, but not tight that they stay put. I bump my table pretty hard a lot and have never had any fall out. On the other hand none of them stick at all. I don't have a digital cameral or a working scanner or I would be glad to share. All 10 of us in our 10 club have at least one. Most of us have ordered 2-3 and also use them for EP, reinkers, etc. by removing shelves (tricky to be sure, but quite doable--have a friend help you hold things in place while you do it).
I'm very interested in ordering the kingdom.com shelf you guys are discussing & looked at it on line. Is it wall-mountable?
I already have racks & shelves sitting on my table against the wall, but I have space above that stuff where I could mount one or two. It would be heaven to have all my ink pads available. I have all the SU pads SU's versions of the spectrum pads, plus all the StazOn, Brilliance, and Opalites. I also have a bunch of the petal point pads (SU chalk versions and regular ones I bought before becoming a demo).

Sorry, can't remember the name of the person who made my carousel, but it is made of wood. I just got it about 3 weeks ago and really like it a lot. Not only does it have room on 2 sides for 48 stamp pads (need to do something about the new ones), but it has room on 2 sides for wheels and on the top for reinkers or anything else you want to put up there. It's turns well. I really don't have a wall to hang anything on. I did post 2 pictures today of my stamp room and the carousel is on one of the tables.

My husband says the kingdom one could easily be wall mounted but make sure at least one stud is involved. LOL, let me say that again. Make sure at least one of the wood screws goes into a stud.
I love my caddy from SU! And it takes up a lot less space than the one you're looking at!
I'm not fundamentally opposed to the SU Caddy, but I can't see how it would take up less space (since I'm going to wall mount the one I have). I don't have alot of available tabletop space. :( Also, I went over to a friend's house this afternoon to check-out her SU Caddy and, in my opinion, it isn't exactly easy to spin. I read other opinions here and it seems like people either like it or hate it. For the price, I better LOVE IT. LOL!! Besides, I'd rather spend $20 on what I bought and $40 on stamps and inks. ;)

The kingdom one, if put flush to the wall only takes up 2 1/2 inches of table space and holds 100 pads. It is a couple of feet long, but fitting that close to the wall it takes up virtually no work space. The SU one would take up a large area of my work space.

Your answer cracked me up ! I'm going to keep that in mind when I get my shelf. hahhahahhaha
I checked out the Kingdom wooden ink pad holder. Does anyone know if it holds Memories ink pads? I had a different cassette holder type and the Memories ink pads were too tall to fit in it. Do you know? I'd really appreciate your help.
I went to thrift stores and found old wooden cassette holders and didn't pay more than $1.99 each. I have a couple of freestanding ones and some 2-sided spinning ones that I sit on top. I can't complain at the price and neither can DH!
I have it and I love it! Even though it's made of cardboard it's sturdy and holds all my SU inkpads just fine. And the cost was the big sell for me. It comes all assembled, you just get it out of the box and start filling it up!

check out this site, it has some good storage solutions. i have the deluxe ink pad storage unit and i love it. i looked recently to discover that they have made an attachment for the new colour family.
