Default Stamping on Wood Frames - not laminated

I was at IKEA today and saw these really cute frames that were 3 for $1.99. Very cute and cheap. Just wondering if anyone has stamped on wood before? What kind of ink do you use? I know I have stamped on these frames before but only with embossing ink and powder. Just wondering if the classic ink pads would work or do you need the craft ink.

I did these this Christmas but I did use ep. If you don't want to emboss you should probably use a permanent ink like Staz On. Then you'll be sure the image will last.

Let us see 'em when they're done!

Hugs,
Betsy

Mary O'Neil did some cute unfinished wooden frames a while back on the Carol Duvall Show - if this is what you're looking for. Carol Duvall show Episode CDS-1451 on the HGTV website. I did some and thought they turned out okay (I used SU stamps - I'll see if I can scan and post).

I'd stick to Craft ~ other inks would probably feather pretty badly, cause they just soak in?

Don't think I'm a stalker, but if you're looking for ideas, and want to see what others have done. . . .
JulieHRR has a wonderful frame idea in the DD gallery! She embossed, then painted, I think? If you're a fan club member, you can check it out here: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

She did another that's uploaded in the demo-only gallery:

If you're not a member of the demo forum, here's a case by stampin3:

I used Making Memories (acrylic) paints plus a zig painty:

Lisa Lisa did some gorgeous frames from Ikea ~ check out her gallery here:
