I am in the process of organizing a room for my stamping stuff!! FINALLY!! HORRAY!! My question is I was thinking of stamping the wall and cupboard doors but not sure what type of paint to use. I am stamping on cement wall I was thinking of using arcylic paint and just wanted to know if anyone has done this before? Thanks! :p
SU recommends acrylic paint - you can even tint it with the dye re-inkers to get SU colors! Use a foam brush to gently dab the paint on your stamp - stamp on wall - repeat. Wash stamp off when it get too much paint in the crevices.
Have a damp rag handy to wipe mistakes off the wall. good luck.....

When I stamp/paint I put the paint into a sponge or small cloth and gently stamp the image on the sponge/cloth and then on the wall. I just treat the spong/cloth as the stamp pad. Acrilic and latex both work well.

I read on another post that you have to clean the stamps faster than immediately when stamping with acrylic paint as it oozes down into all the crevices & if you don't clean it off then it won't come off later.
Good luck. Please post what you did & how it turned out because I'd love to try but am a little chicken!

I just painted my girls room. I then stamped flowers at the top of the wall and ran it on the ceiling a bit. I bought sponge stampers, I used latex paint. It was easy to wash off the stamp. Then in the middle of the flowers (pink ones) I add glitter and on the purple flowers I acually used my stamp and ink. I also used a sqiggle in green that was also stamped. Turned out awesome.
Stampin Up recommends that you take our reinkers and add drops of the color
to white acrylic paint from the craft store till you get the color you want, then stamp your walls! ( be sure to count and write it down in case you need to make more of the same color!)
About 4-5 years ago at a SU convention, there was a demo for this. I then took the demo home and tried it on my baby's bedroom walls.
What I did was use acrylic paint and a foam brush. Pat the paint onto the stamp. To clean the stamps, take them to the sink and clean with soap and a small brush like a toothbrush.
Instead of painting directly on the wall, they demo'd to stamp onto CLEAR CONTACT PAPER. I bought mine at Target for about $5. I bought the short 5-6" strip roll. Once the paint has dried, use your scissors to cut out the image and then apply it to the wall, dresser, chairs etc.
When I demo this to my customers, they get excited and before you know it� their walls are all stamped!
The BEST thing about this technique, is once the stamped images are applied to the walls, you can't even tell it's a sticker And when you are tired of the theme, it's that simple to take them off and change to something else!
PS� this also works great for DORMS! My soon to be DIL made hers a Hawaiian theme!
Are the cement blocks already painted with a base coat? I would think that acrylic paint or latex would be fine.
I just stenciled Bible verses on my hall upstairs. I used wall paint mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with glaze plus a little acrylic to make it just slightly darker than the walls. I used the negative of my Cricut cutouts and a stencil brush. Could not have been easier!!!!!
I stamped my walls for the first time last year and just used acrylic paints. They came out great by the way and so many people have liked what I've done. I'm getting ready to my kids room. Anyway, as far as clean up goes--you are going to have the paint dry around the stamp no matter what. I can't think of anyway around that. But, I had no problem getting it off of the rubber. In fact, once I got it started it just peeled off. The only places is didn't come off was on the wood blocks. But that doesn't change the quality of the stamping. Hope this helps some.
We stamped on my daughter's walls last summer using latex wall paint. I made a stamp pad out of a frozen meal container and a piece of felt. First I dampened the felt then laid part of the felt on the bottom of the container and poured a bit of paint on the felt. Then I folded the rest of the felt over the top of the paint. I used a vinyl gloved hand to squish the felt and the paint seeped through and created a stamp pad. We did not have trouble getting too much paint in the crevices.

this will be what I try- I am out today doing errands I will pick some up
and some acrylic white paint as I plan to color it with our SU reinkers as the company recommends.
will keep you posted next week on how it works! forgot to order the new stamp for the walls so have to get that order in tonight! lolo

The sticker idea is great. Thank you for sharing. We live in a rented house but we wanted to add so color in the boys rooms. We have tried some borders but they won't stick to the wall.
Well.. guess what we are going to do very soon???
Now I'm wondering about removing the stickers - say 6 months from now, I'm tired of the floral, and want something else - how hard will it be to peel that contact paper off? Anyone know?
Perhaps you could also prepare the walls like you would before putting on wall-paper... apply a sizing that dries clear before putting the stamped clear contact paper on wall. This should help it peel right off as it does wall-paper.

Has anyone every had trouble getting good coverage with the paint. I'm stamping on some wood crates with big deal alpha set and the image comes out all spotty...what am I doing wrong???

be careful what contact paper you buy- just buying "clear" wont work
its like stamping on cello bags and it takes up to forever to dry- :(
I have YET to find the correct kind of clear contact paper for stamping on -
if any of yu have it and would like to sell some- (the non slick kind but still clear)

oh no that isnt what I meant sorry! I have stamped on wood but used stazon
what "kind" of wood it is? pine is a soft wood and will soak up inks more than oak or maple- I am working on my stamp room walls and having a hard time finding a stampable contact paper to use because I dont like the effect of stamping directly to my walls- that is what the contact paper is for sorry for the confusion. I was reading a previous post and replied to it. Do you have a photo you can email me so that I can see what is happening? sometimes it easier to diagnose that way!

Does anyone know that right kind to buy? I looked last night and they only had one kind and I would like to make stickers for my son's room.
As far as keeping the blocks clean, just put masking tape around the base of the rubber on the wood block. Then you can trim the excess with scissors.
Also, I'm thinking that the contact paper will work with paint but not with regular ink. I've stamped on contact paper with staz-on and then dusted the sticky side with peal-ex, so I know staz-on will work with regular clear contact paper. (I got just the regular stuff from Wal-Mart.)
I'm thinking of possibly doing some stamping in my room, once I receive the SAB Big Blossom stamp! After reading the posts, I'm not sure if I should use paint or try contact paper. Two of my walls are outside, brick ones. I've never stamped on walls before, and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers!
