Hi everyone,
We will be visiting Columbus, Ohio for 2 days beginning tomorrow. As I will have some free time, I'd like to visit some stamp stores in the area. What are your favorites? TIA
Pretty much what Kelly said. I love Archiver's. There used to be a great place at Polaris but they went out of business. :( There is a place in Reynoldsburg...can't remember the name, but they have some wonderful hard to find items.
Be safe driving. I'm about 35 minutes NW of Columbus and it is a mess.
Here's the list of scrapbook stores in the Columbus area.
As previously said, Archiver's has the best stamp selection and Scrapbook Art has the second best but not a lot. If you're going through Dayton to get to Columbus there are three stores in the Dayton area with large stamp selections I'd recommend there: Simply Scrapbooks in Kettering, Marco's in Centerville, and Color Wheel Arts & Crafts in Beavercreek.
If you can drive about an hour South and East- go to marco's papers- they have EVERYTHING under the sun!
My daughter goes to OSU and although Marco's adds time to the trip, I always find so much stuff there. Check out the Beckett Expressions Radiance cardstock- just like Whisper White.
If you go to Marco's for stamps make sure you go to Simply Scrapbooks in Kettering (just a couple miles from Marcos). They have an amazing amount of stamps - wood mounted, cling and acrylic.....and they try to carry the latest releases.
Marco's is definitely the place to for tons of types of papers and envelopes and everything for inking, altering, etc. They just don't seem to have as many new stamps. I'm okay with going there every couple of months because the stamp selection doesn't change much.

I agree with Leslie. Simply Scrapbooks in Kettering is fantastic. She just finished a fantastic sale to make room for the new CHA product she has coming in. Her stamp selection is very nice and she also has a very nice selection of Bazzill, Prism and dp.
I go to Marco's for Beckett or Neena (sp?) cardstock, envelopes, Spellbinders. I definitely don't go there for the stamps. But they do have a huge selection of Spellbinders and CB embossing folders.

Thanks for all the replies. We are visiting 2 sons at OSU. We live in Chicago so don't get down that way very often. I will definitely hit as many of the stores as weather permits.
I know this thread is quite old... is there anyone who might be able to update? I know Archiver's at Easton is gone. Are there ANY stores left? I wish Simon Says would do a retail outlet at their location.
Hey Pat! I have never been to Marco's. Aren't they just paper? We ended up only browsing around at Easton, but I did find a little store that had a small selection of stuff and I was able to get a new Silhouette cutting mat, which I really needed! I really wish Simon Says had a retail store... we could all carpool to C'bus every other month or so to go shopping!
I'll definitely have to plan ahead for a trip to Marco's next time. Beginning August 31st, my daughter will be in Columbus for school for 18 months, so I'm sure I'll have frequent trips back and forth.
There's not a lot left. Scrapbook Art at Polaris has some stamps and dies and is a really nice scrapbook store. Legacy Paper Arts is in Powell. It is small but has a nice selection of local schools & attractions scrapbooking items. I think every other store that is not a big box store has now closed.
Marcos is in the Dayton area. I think all of the Dayton area LSS are now closed too.
If you're ever headed up north, there is a great store in Sandusky called the Embellished Scrapbook Boutique.
LOL I forgot Jillibean Soup warehouse is in Marysville 20 minutes NW of Columbus burbs. I drive by there almost everyday but rarely stop because I've bought enough Jillibean Soup at their warehouse sales to last the rest of my life. They have an adorable store front with antiques & vintage items and some scrapbook stuff. If they are having their warehouse sale it will probably be the same weekend as the Columbus Scrapbook Expo in a couple of weeks.
I'm from the Dayton Area. I thought I would point out some scrapbook stores that weren't mentioned/ just opened up around the Dayton Area (side note, I would suggest going in this order to save gas and time)
Christy's Happy Scrapper- 2 N 2nd St (Corner of 2nd and Main)
Fairborn, Ohio (has a facebook page)
Close by Wright Patterson Airforce base and has paper from Sweden.
Just be careful not to go onto the base if your using a GPS.
The Paper Cottage- 1490 N Fairfield Rd
Beavercreek, Ohio
just a few minutes away from the Fairfield Mall. Close by the Montessori School and a bank.
Memories 4 All Seasons
1348 N. Detroit St.
Xenia, OH 45385
They have tons of scrapbooking supplies and cake supplies as well. If you are a huge Disney fan, she has quite a collection.
