Do you need to use a pigment ink? When I stamp with dye ink, it doesn't see to take very well and takes forever to dry. It's almost as if there is a film on the chip surface. Do I need to clean the surface before stamping? Any help will be appreciated.
You cannot use a heat gun on paint chips, because it shrivels up the paint. therefore, you cannot use embossing powder. You can only use staz-on on the paint chip, because everything else will wipe off. I have had personal experience. HTH Sharon
I have used embossing on paint chips with out problems. I do not mean laminate chips that have been painted, but regualr paper paint strips you get free at the paint section that show the colors of paint. I used on ehere
I did some search after posting this thread and find that Stazon seems to be the ink of choice which means I'll have to go over my budget for October (yes, I've alreayd spent September's budget) to get a black Stazon pad. Oh my, such is the life of a stamper :>)
You might want to get some stazon cleaner too. It tends to stain the rubber. You will be able to stamp on everything when you get your stazon pad, I love it for shrink art.
Thr paint chips we used to try the embossing were from the paint section of the store, maybe thay were the laminate ones, but when we applied heat the paint just curled up and rolled off. I guess I will have to try again with a different type of paint chip,to see if it will work for me. Thanks for the info.
