Default Stamping on fabric?

Someone in my stamp club is an avid quilter, and is interested in stamping on fabric pieces that she can use in her quilts. If she stamps with StazOn, will it stay, permanently on the fabric? Can it be washed? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

;) I would love to know this too! I've been toying with the idea for a while after seeing some gorgeous projects! (sorry no help, just chiming in with a comment!)

I've stamped quilt squares with Fabrico ink, but it was only for a decorative quilt--not one that would be washed. I think the Fabrico ink gives directions for washing, though--not sure how durable it would be.

I have T-shirts that I have stamped using Fabrico, washable & durable. Make sure fabric is washed to remove sizing then heat set.

If you go up above the blue bar at the top right of your screen (but not way above), you'll see three options: new posts, search, and quick links. If you click on "search" and then type in "stamping on fabric" you'll get all sorts of great links with wonderful tips from the fine ladies (nd gents) here at SCS. Last summer I needed advise on stamping on cloth, and learned a lot! Have fun!

What aboout using Fabric Paint? Pour some out into a paper plate and either stamp your ink in that or use a paint brush to cover stamp. Fabric paint is washable and permanent. I believe there are a couple of different brands, but the one I knbow of is "Tulip". HTH

if you have acrylic paints you can add the fabric medium to it, mix it up and stamp with that. I have had to do T-shirts for my DD kindergarten class at least 4 times this year and I have always done it that way. works perfect !

You can use Fabrico or Palette inks. Both work great!!! Just wash then dry without softener first. Stamp and HEAT SET before wearing and washing again! :-) I do this a lot!!!

I would not use StazOn. The back of the pad says not to use with fabric.

I've not had good experience with using StazOn on fabric. It's either bled or washed out pretty quickly.

Fabrico, on the other hand, has worked beautifully.

Fabric paints - eh. I can never get a crisp, clear print with them but they do seem to last fairly well.

Forgot to add that you can also use All Purpose Inks with Fantastix to get shading to color in your stamped images. Heat set. They last forever after 100s of washings too! :-)
