Default stamping on candles....what to color with?

I've read the instructions but what's best to color the image on the tissue paper with? Doesnt the tissue paper tear when you try to color on it? I thought about using markers or pastels....but if I apply pastel with a blender pen I can see the tissue tearing.....I want to make those glitter candles for a stamp camp project....can anyone give me good suggestions?

I have tried chalks, WWC and reinkers or off the pads covers and the best I've found is using aquapainters with ink either from pads or reinkers. The colors are much more vibrant this way and you don't tear the tissue but you have to wait for it to dry before applying to candle.
