Hi everyone. I really love Bella stamps but I have a hard time getting the images to work! It seems that I use too much or not enough ink. Any suggestions on a good ink to use and mounting technique??
TIA!!!
I have really good luck with the Pallett inks! They work great, and give a crisp image! I find the SU inks aren't as good, for some reason. What kind of ink are you using? Karen
I ink it up really well with my Palette ink, then stamp off first on scrap paper. Then I just tap it on the stamp pad lightly and then stamp on my project.
It seems to help get ink in all the details, but I get the goopies out by stamping off first.
Run, do not walk, but RUN I say and get this ink: Versafine black. It ROCKS for Bella images! (And all other images of course ). I had the same issue with my SU black pad, got a VersaFine from my bella sistah and it's loooooverly! That was 8 months ago and it's still the bestest.
I have found that if I mount the Bella stamps (or other uncushioned, unmounted stamps) using Aleene's tack-it-over-and-over glue they're more forgiving than if I use my double-sided-taped acrylic block.

I mounted mine with Ezmount and it's been so much better. I can't tell you how many sheets of paper I've gone through before I found that and versafine ink.

All my Bellas are mounted on thin EZmount and I LOVE my Memento Tuxedo Black ink - LOVE IT. It's awesome for the Bella stamps and it's fabulous for coloring with too (no smearing!).

there are a couple of options
(1) i agree that versafine and memento tuxedo black are awesome.. love tuxedo black with copics!
(2) another trick is to make sure your table doesn't have a dip in it... sounds funny but it's true! also, make sure that you bring your inkpad to the stamp not the other way around.. this way it ensures that you see even coverage and if you need a little give.. just get a foam craft pad or mousepad, place your paper over it and stamp away!
I hope this helps!

I just ordered some tack-it-over-and-over, can't wait to try that. In the meantime, I stick my bellas to my acrylic block with doublesided tape. I ink it by lowering the ink pad lightly onlo the stamp, not squishing the stamp into the ink. I like to use Brilliance inks or memento.
I've been using Stazon black and having horrible results with it. Wasted many a paper and cardstock, I tell ya! Friends recently suggested Pallete Noir and Momento and love the results, so i will probably go with one of those to try (and the versafine based on the rave reviews here!)
Versafine IS a great ink to use to capture detail - I rarely use it though b/c I find it smears way too easily. And with the Bella's I'm always coloring them and I don't have the patience to wait for the ink to dry (and for me even heat setting doesn't help) so I stick with Memento. I do really like using my Versafine for sentiment stamps though.....
I LOVE my Memento Tuxedo Black. It is perfect for my Bella's..and goes to perfectly with Copics. The bonus is that it comes off with baby wipes! :-)
I haven't been mounting mine-and have used double sided tape-but soon I will be trying Tack It over and over.
Yes!! I noticed that too and I LOVE that it only takes a quick swipe to clean off my stamps after using it - no other ink I've used cleans off as easily.
One other new black that I've just found- is from A Muse stamps - their black ink works FABULOUSLY with Copics...just a second or two for drying time and you're ready to color! It's just the BEST and I can pick it up locally (no waiting for an order to come in the mail!) It is probably on their website too if you don't live near a place that has A Muse stamp stuff!
