Default stamping bella's

I am new to using bella's and have yet to figure out the best tech to stamp them. I am use to using SU stamps and some other brands where the rubber is raised more. I have stamped at least 16 images of one stamp and I am frustrated because I keep getting lines around my image or not all of the image gets inked. I have been stamping for over 7 years and have never had this problem. I love my bella images and want to use them. Please help!!!!

I lay my stamp upside down--and stamp it with Black Stazon. I can then look and tell if all of it has been stamped evenly. If it is leaving lines around the image, does the image need to be trimmed?

I have trimmed the edges very close and this seems to help at least one of the problems. Maybe I can get through stamping before I get too frustrated. Thank you for your replies
