If it isn't on the retiring list it should be in the new catty or still available.
Some were a little confused by the FRA and ESP on the retiring list, thinking that meant only the French or Spanish versions were retiring. If a set is on the list it is retiring in all of the languages available. There was a little note at the bottom saying this FRA and ESP were just noting that the set was also available in other languages and they are retiring AS WELL.
I saw from a blog feed of a SU! demo that the glimmer paper is going up in price in the new catty. I have a couple packs of the red glimmer paper. Will SU! have other colors in the glimmer paper or just the red?

Sorry you were disappointed...seems people either love it or hate it every year:-) I do love it and I really do think there is a better selection. LOVE the in colors! And I'd look for more new punches in the mini's, I think they will introduce more new stuff there now.
I love your avatar, is it a cookie??? It's so cute!

Only the red is in the new catalog right now. Don't be surprised to see other colors in future mini catalogs, though. Just my guess.

I am with you; I could not believe how many things from the mini catalogs are now in the new catalog. I saw only one holiday set I liked and two other sets and that was it! Some ruffled ribbon; no punches. I don't know what I am going to do as I hate to buy a set just to demo it unless I love it.

That's nothing new....they always carry quite a bit over...if it sells good why not continue it (and we demos like it because we get more mileage out of the mini sets, right?:-)). Don't forget that SU is pushing the mini's more so there will be lots of fab stuff in the holiday mini....and they have also said they are using the big catalog for a core offering and then will introduce new things in the minis. I fully expect to see most new punches and BS stuff in the minis and not the big catalog.
I'm not exactly sure what is aloud to be shared but can anyone offer a hint about whether or not more starter kits/bundles appear (i.e. value pack/getting started collection of classic stampin' pads, or maybe something like the demonstrator starter set but not for demonstrators, for newbies?)...
i saw the new caddy last night at my demo's house and all i can say is i hope my bank gives me a loan!!!!. i have not been this excited about a caddy in a long time!!!!! I too believe there is something for everyone. i absolutely love the new hostess program. hurry up july 1st!!!!

I won't buy a set just to demo it! Right now my friend and I are only holding workshops every other month. I will only have 13 current sets. There are some I'm really loving~so I'll be buying, but I will just make do! It does help that I do three cards and she does three cards. I just don't need as much.

I finally recieved my catalog.....at my first look, I wasn't ooohing and ahhhing like I usually do...BUT, after my second to 18th look, there's plenty in there to love....the hard part is trying to decide what I want to order first....can't put the thing down...have some pre-order stuff to keep me busy til then....
Selecting hostess sets from a pre-determined group sounds pretty much like the current set-up. It is nice to be able to purchase sets at 50% off, so that's an improvement if you don't care for the hostess sets that are offered.
Gotta wait til I get my catty. At our stamp club last night my demo didn't have the new catty yet, so I'll wait until the order comes in to see my catty. I don't have expectations, as some are ecstatic over each and every new catty, then I sit down to look at it and I'm not the least bit impressed. I do believe that the focus is on the minis and that SU! uses the minis to stoke greater interest in new products.
So I'm eager for Sept 1st when the Holiday mini comes out.

But there are no levels...and that's great! From my calculations you can easily get two sets with a smaller party of $150.00, where before you only got the one. Also nice to be able to pick from the general stamps too.

Awww hanging out for sept!!!! Actually considering using the postal service again to get my hands on new bits before anyone in aust (although I'm risking getting stuff that doesn't get into the aust catty...)

Can someone help me out here. Are these going to be retired?
Yes, I was talking about punches in the minis, they have always been carried over. The punches on the retiring list are old and are indeed being retired. Allistamps is right, thanks Alli:-) Oh and I'm quite PO'd about the cute little bat punch...plus the fact he was new last year:(
If you have lots of guys in your family that are into speed, there's a set of 4 pencil sketchy looking vehicles called "Need for Speed". Has a 4-wheel ATV, race car, speed boat and a jet fighter. I like it for the jet fighter because I live in a military areas with lots of jets, and non-cutesy fighter jet stamps are hard to come by. Some of the men in my life know too much about every aspect of jet fighters, so I'm sure they'll let me know what's wrong with the design, but I love the drawing style of the set. There didn't seem to be a whole lot of new stamps (bunch of mini catalog sets brought back, more than I would have expected). Tons of new fabrics which I don't buy and other jewelry type of stuff that I don't buy, so I wasn't impressed. Really looks like they're saving the new stuff for the mini catalogs because the new catalog was underwhelming. Like someone said before, the clear stamp storage cases have gone up in price. Other than the jet fighter jumping out at me, nothing much impressed me, but I'm not a rabid SU fan at all and barely remembered that the retirement lists had even come out.
And if anyone is wondering, NO I didn't and won't ever sign up as a demo again, but have a demo friend who got hers early and gave me one. They've also changed the set-up of the hostess benefits. Some of the changes are good, especially if you never liked the hostess sets (and they're no longer direct levels like before, but similar in that you can use hostess dollars to purchase various priced hostess sets). Has some aspects that are similar to TAC's hostess plan. It'll take some getting used to for long-time SU purchasers who knew the hostess benefits plan by heart.

Found this little sneak peak on nitestamper's blog...I was not sure about the delicate doilies, but leave it to Chat to make it a must-purchase item!!!
Stampin' Up has asked that demos not give out the new catalog until June 20. After all, they still want people to buy from the current catalog until the end of June!
I just got mine last night, and it's the most beautiful catalog that I can remember.

I couldn't believe that one either! he's my favorite and the only reason I didn't buy him in Oct was because I was on a very strict budget and I figured I'd wait till next Halloween. But lucky me--the night of my stamping club when I was making my order it went on sale for $10!

I have to say that I am a rabid SU fan, but I've been underimpressed before. I'm hoping I love this catty and I have a feeling I will. Keeping my fingers crossed that I love it. I loved, loved, loved the winter mini with the sewing stuff, chocolate, etc. The best ever for me.

I just got my new catalog.. I love the look and feel of it, so bright and fresh. And I really like all the examples inside. There are quite a few things I love about it, especially all of the new DSP. Such pretty paper! I especially like the Berry Blossoms and Mocha Morning! I'm so glad that most of the things from the minis are in it too.
I do think there is something for everyone.. a lot of vintage, a lot of whimsical, a lot of masculine, lots of solids and lots of images to color. I'm excited! Looking forward to the next mini too!
can u tell me if they have a new "angel policy" set, or perhaps a single stamp this time around?
thanks
There's an 8 count stamp set (clear mount $14.95, wood-mount $18.95 US) that has three images in it with the little copywrite Stampin' Up! on them. The rest are generic handmade by, etc. type of stamps. One of the three copywrite stamps simply says "copywrite (with the symbol) Stampin' Up!" so it can easily be used in conjunction with the other stamps that don't have the statement on them. Set is called "Creatively Yours" in English and is available in Spanish and French.
I am so glad there is some nice designer paper in it too. The Mocha Morning sounds scrumptious!
I too would like to know if there are any new single stamps.
And I would love to know what the 'must have' set is this year.
