We get together once a month and stamp - 3 of us - catching up on swaps.
Anyways, I end up going to someone elses house, and instead of taking all my pads and markers I just a few pads and almost all my markers, but its kind of a pain, and was wondering if buying a set up spots would be worth it.
Does anyone else have these and how well do they work, or does someone use them for traveling?
I have them in 3 families and I love them. I travel frequently and take them with me, and like you mentioned, are great for going to swaps, crops and camps.
Also, its a good way to "try before you buy" the full size pads. You can see what colors you use often and then order the regular pad. The ones you don't use often you still have in spots!
The spots are great for traveling and trying out new colors to see if you really like it before you buy the big ones. Just a little reminder to store the spots upside down to keep them at their juiciest!

Love mine. Get all the colors for little money and I use reinkers to keep them moist. Reinked once in 3 years!! Best thing SU sells in my opinion! I don't really like SU's full size pads for a variety of reasons but the spots do the trick! By the way, I store them upside down.

I love them for traveling. I usually take a all 4 sets and a mixed pack of paper of each, a little vanilla and a little white. Then I have tons of room for stamps and lots of color choices. When I am at home I use my full size pads. HTH
I have all 4 of them and most of my club members start off with them. I take mine when I travel and when I do workshops.... just in case I forgot a color!
Kim -- I concur with all of the above - I love, love, love 'em! They are the only ink pads I have used for stamping and scrapbooking purposes since I became a demo in Oct. '03. Never have had to reink them. All of my customers love them and have ordered them as well. I am slowly but surely amassing the classic pads as well for home use. The price really can't be beat and they last forever! Another tip: if you should have any stray hairs from the pad, be sure to trim them, or these "hairs" will act as a wick and make your pad leak. Also, if you cut off the labels or try to bend them under, make sure the lid closes tightly - one of my customers bent her labels under and one of her pads leaked. Other than that, we have all loved them and think they are the absolute best!

Someone mentioned storing them upside down. So I shouldn't be storing them the way they came in the box with the label sides up so I can see the colours?
What about the classix pads I have, should they be stored with label side up or down?
The classic pads are automatically stored upsidedown when you have the label side facing up, (the pad flips as you are opening it). I put the spots the correct way in the box so that I can see the lables and then store the whole box upside down. It just keeps the pads juicy at the top and not at the bottom. It isnt a big deal either way you store them.

I love, love, love my spots ... I have them in all four families (and I've heard that SU will be compiling a set of the new colors that I will get !!!). As for storing them upside down, I leave them in the box as usual and just turn the entire box upside down and I write on the outside the box what family it is so that it will be read right side up. I am a MUST have it all person. I do have a few regular sized pads (black, brown, mellow moss and perfect plum). I have the moss and plum ones because I did thank you cards and invites and it was much easier to ink the bg stamps I used with the bigger pads. If I was only making one or two cards, I would have just used the spots on the bg stamp, but 50 - 100 was way too many for that!!!!
