Default stampin mist--what's WRONG???

I purchased a stampin mist refill months ago and just recently realized that it doesn't smell the same as all the other bottles I've bought over the years. Has SU! changed the formula?? I swear it smells like dish soap and it even foams like it (more so than just the rose-smelling formula does).
What's up? Has anyone else encountered this? Since it's been over 90 days I doubt SU! would do anything about it. I'm bummed. It doesn't seem to clean as well and it sure makes a mess of my scrubbing pads.

If you do a search on "Stampin Mist" I'm sure you'll find TONS of info on this issue.

** So, okay I figured out how to narrow down my search and lo and behold I found others that also received bad stampin mist. Thanks everyone. I'm off to call SU!

I noticed a scentless Mist refill last fall and I don't think it works as well either.
I've mentioned it to ds at various times and have only gotten half hearted, shrugging and non-committal hems-and haws.
I haven't pursued it...returned and refund and all that - I'm just disinclined and I have a different brand from a friend with a wholesale stamping affiliation.
If it is defective when it is unscented I would feel vindicated.
next time I'll be more agressive! I'd be pro-active with a customers order, but at the time I was too busy with pre christmas camps.

I just noticed this last night with my bottle of Stampin' Mist. I think it smells exactly like "Nature's Miracle" - a cleaner for pet messes! I'm sure it's not this, but...

I got a new refill a couple months ago (evidently AFTER they changed their formula) and I think it STINKS! I can hardly stand the smell of it now! It was pleasant before, and didn't bother me at all. I cleans okay, but seems like I have to work a little harder, especially with darker colors.

I too cannot stand the new stampin mist. I returned the refill bottle to SU but the new one had the same foul odor. I cannot tolerate the smell. I feel ill after smelling it. Does anyone know of any good stamp cleaners from other companies?

I use Brawn brand Orange Cleaner $2.00 @ Wal-mart- put a couple drops in a 6 oz bottle of water - works super - gets the stamps very clean - even staz-on - (seeing that I can no longer fond the staz-on cleaner at any of the craft stores!) I bought a SU mist when I first started with SU ( last yr) - but could not justify the cost - to the cleaning results - so I happened to have a bottle of Generic Orange cleaner from the dollar store on hand and just love it!

I agree - I started making my own cleaner too. It's so much cheaper and it works so much better! Got the recipe right here on SCS.

I've found staz-on cleaner at hobby lobby for $2.99. It's the dab on kind, not spray. They also carry Ranger brand stamp cleaner in a spray bottle for $2.99-9.99 priced at 2 different stores) and it smells like bubble gum! I'll try the Brawn cleaner since it can do the job of both. thanks for the tip!

I think it's smelly too and my friend calls me crazy. Too me it smells almost like eggs gone bad. YUCK!

Does any one have the link to the recipe for cleaner that was on this site one other time?

I used some faux cleaner for awhile and it was fine... then it stopped working as effectively and now I use SU cleaner and will NEVER EVER go back!!

I found this on another link by sml1170

Use an empty hairspray bottle
Put in 3 TBS Body Spray (try something that smells good to you)
Fill the rest of the bottle with room temp water.
Add 4-6 drops of dish detergent (soap).
Replace cap and shake gently (just a little)

I spray on my scrub like normal. I still plan on using the Stampin' Mist at w/s.

HTH.
